The Dividends team are a section within Corporate Services whose prime responsibility is to pay dividends accurately and on time. Established to provide support (both current requirements/products and future needs) to clients for the payment of dividends in a range of currencies to shareholders/participants on behalf of registry and Share Plans clients, including Jersey.

The Bristol based team is the centre of excellence for dividend payments paying more than 2,600 client dividends in FY20 for more than £25 billion. Dividends can be paid by either cash, DRP or SCRIP with currency elections also possible with many payment channels.
A role you will love
The Dividend QA & Technical Manager is a varied and fast-paced role where you will be responsible for checking completion and quality of the dividend coordinators work. You will support and mentor the dividend co-ordinators to ensure they have the relevant tools and procedures to perform their role. There will be a requirement for you to implement dividend payments for new business as well as support continuous improvement projects and assist with internal/external audits.
What key accountabilities you will have in the role?
- Undertake QA of all completed payments.
- Sign off Payment Co-Ordinators work.
- Sign off money movements, FX requests and DRIP Instructions up to specific values depending on signing authority.
- Point of reference for Payment Co-Ordinators providing training and coaching as necessary
- Educate colleagues and Issuers as SME for dividend payments.
- Share knowledge with team members helping to inspire and develop less experienced staff.
- Ensure team processes and documents are kept up to date.
- Manage complex payments meeting all client specific requirements.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with team members, other CPU business units and Global teams.
- Implement new Company payments and deliver to Dividend Co-ordinators ahead of first payment date.
- As an SME contribute to a wide range of ad hoc projects across the UK Market.
What skills and experience will you bring to the role?
- Share registry and plans experience and knowledge of process and procedure
- Experienced at working with the stock market and foreign securities and familiar with broader financial industry and its key drivers.
- Good understanding and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Advanced Ms Excel skills (Preferred)
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A professional approach to client facing and consultation
- Ability to build consensus among stakeholders as to best solution
- Ability to lead and contribute in a dynamic team based environment
- Ability to work autonomously, navigating through complexity and ambiguity
- Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best course of action
