Locations: Port Melbourne (Hybrid)

In this position, you'll be based in Port, Melbourne office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. This role has in-office operational requirements and so we're unable to consider employees who wish to continue an existing, fully remote working arrangement.

Computershare has a great opportunity to join our Communication Services team as a Developer in our Port Melbourne office, Sydney Ermington office or Brisbane office.

Join a team of talented developers that develop and bring to life personalised customer correspondence, which helps companies connect with their customers through print, digital, and mobile digital channels.

As a member of a cross-functional team focused on shared success, you will develop solutions for Computershare Communication Services and deliver solutions with first-time quality and adherence to ISO9001 procedures.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Write high quality code, developing unit, functional and performance testing and manage promotion to production environments.
  • Complete development work within the estimated time frame and budget
  • Provide insights and direction to teams to enhance the efficiency of technology solutions delivery to customers.
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical issues, including direct customer engagement, when necessary, to ensure rapid resolution of queries and issues.
  • Provide development support during 'go live' activities, as required.
  • Participate in peer code reviews against requirements and standards.
  • Participate in quality issue investigations as required.
  • Demonstrable ability to suggest and implement improvements to existing processes and tools

What will you bring to the role?

You will have the ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic team environment and build effective working relationships with people from both a technical and non-technical background. You have a passion for software development and a desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • University Degree from accredited institution in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science and/or related discipline.
  • Programming Experience - minimum 3 years** experience developing software in a commercial environment.
  • Experience in Windows and/or Unix, Perl (or other high-level language), databases and data structures
  • Possess and display a positive, flexible, enthusiastic attitude & strong work ethic, be self-motivated, proactive and a capable of working in a team or independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess the ability to work well under pressure, maintaining professionalism and a focus on quality
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with other Team Members and colleagues in various departments of Computershare
  • Exhibit strong time management skills to achieve successful outcomes in a timely manner
