A role you will love
The Relationship Manager is the primary contact between Computershare Shareholder Services and its investor services clients. Basic Relationship Manager responsibilities include ensuring that clients receive the services they've purchased and that those services are delivered in a manner that meets and exceeds the clients' expectations. The Relationship Manager also coordinates all major client activities and services by interfacing with other members of the Client team, operational units and the entire organization as needed. Additionally, this role will assist all sales units in coordinating cross sells and up sells by introducing clients to additional Computershare products and services.
Other Responsibilities include:
- Establishes a professional and trusting relationship with clients that are deemed to be complex with significant revenue impact exceeding $500,000/year. These relationships are categorized to be in the top 2% of the client base. Due to the complex nature and focus on revenue protection these clients will additionally be supported by a Client Support Administrator.
- The role may also include the requirement to manage clients which fall in the Enhanced client tier. For those clients under management they will not be supported by a Client Support Administrator.
- Ensures that clients' service orders are accurately communicated and executed in a timely manner
- Monitor and manages client dividend declarations and annual meeting events in conjunction with internal operational areas
- Ensures timely funding of services (i.e. dividends and advance postage)
- Acts as the central point of contact/control for client annual meetings
- Attends client annual meetings, and account planning sessions
- Resolves client issues and documents service incidents, follows up with internal business units to secure responses and shares results with the Client, their Manager and Management
- Assists certain clients with special projects, expediting transactions, troubleshooting, problem solving, and servicing of all clients' shareholder and participant accounts including as they relate to Shareholder Assistance, Restricted Stock transactions, Broker Inquiries, mass Issuances, Secondary Offerings and Terminations.
- Ensures that clients are informed of changes in industry and regulatory environments and the direct impact on them
- Assists key clients in implementing and sustaining a strategic plan
- Mitigates financial exposure by ensuring timely funding of services (i.e. dividends, advance postage, as applicable)
- Serves as a conduit to internal business units to ensure that client feedback on services is communicated timely and opportunities to improve performance can be leveraged
- Monitors revenue relative to forecast and make required adjustments
- Ensures accurate records (i.e. Authorized Capital, Treasury balance) by performing and assisting with reconcilement activities
- Maintains functional knowledge of Computershare's processes, systems, products and services and communicate enhancements and modifications to clients
- Ensures collection of receivables in accordance with Computershare's guidelines
- Where practical, coordinates with sales, marketing and product associates as they deliver additional products and services
- Coordinates with their Manager, Finance, Legal and Sales associates where appropriate to determine the components of contract renewals
- Attends applicable webinar, product training, and technical training
- Prepares for and delivers periodic Business review Sessions
What will you bring to the role?
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working directly with corporate clients.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (for example business, communications, finance, etc) is preferred.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong client relationship management experience.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing priorities independently.
- Experience working directly with all levels in an organization from entry level to executive level professionals.
- Ability to work autonomously and possesses strong independent thinking and self management skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Experience in the financial services sector is preferred.
