In 2023 Computershare went live on Oracle Fusion, which aligned with the financial strategy of standardising practices within the group. The balance sheet of each legal entity is owned by Financial Control, with preparation completed mainly by Transactional Accounting and supported by Tax and Treasury. We are investing in a team to support the final stages of the standardisation, quality control and optimisation of our balance sheet reconciliation and evidence presentation.

You will be part of a team of 4 over a 6-7 month period under the ultimate guidance of the Group Financial Controller, with local support from the Global Head of Transactional Accounting.

This team will collaborate with Financial Control (FC), Transactional Accounting (TA), Tax and FP&A to review balances and enhance evidence preparation under IFRS, including advising of where any opportunities exist regarding balance releases. They will also perform a deep dive on our fixed assets to ensure all assets are correctly categorised under our new and enhanced Fusion categories, and any older/obsolete assets retired as required.

This role will be supporting our reconciliations globally, and there will be a recurring need to work with colleagues in North America, Australia, and EMEA.

• Support the Balance Sheet Accounting Manager to build a plan which works through the balance sheet reconciliations based on priority (legal entity, account and balance) which lays out step for improvement initiatives.

• Support the review and amendments to our fixed asset ledger to ensure all assets adhere to the audit assertions under IFRS accounting standards.

• Perform the investigation of any unknown balances through to evidence and accounting resolution.

• Feedback any issues identified regarding the outsourced vendor's output levels to the Financial Control Manager

• Support the Balance Sheet Accounting Manager to create an attestation process for balance sheet recs to support the delivery of governance and high quality balance sheet and fixed asset supporting information.

• Monitor the quality and timeliness of balance sheet work and provide feedback to colleagues and the senior management team as part of ongoing quality improvement.

• Act as point of contact & escalation to support requests, resolves conflicts and other issues raised by other finance and non-finance teams.

• monitors risks & issues and ensures they are resolved or escalated on a timely basis.

• Drive continuous improvement opportunities.

• Supports Financial Control with balance sheet audit evidence.

What will you bring to the role?

Required:

• At least 3-5 years' experience in an accounting role is essential, with the preference for someone with a background in practice before moving into a large global business.

• Part or fully qualified (ACA/CA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in finance, accounting or related discipline.
