We are currently recruiting for a senior individual to join us as an AVP to join the Change & Transformation and New Initiatives, Asia on a 15 month fixed-term contract. This team in Hong Kong oversees projects and programs in the Hong Kong market including process improvement, integrations from global programs, new products and regulatory change. In particular, the jobholder will be a senior member of the team in the successful delivery of a major regulatory project that is essential to the success and the revenue generating power of the Hong Kong share registry business.

A role you will love

The jobholder needs to be able to maintain a good working relationship with key regulator (SFC) and stakeholders (Hong Kong Stock Exchange) and our peers in the share registry business, to influence outcomes that are beneficial to our business and industry. At the same time, it gives the jobholder an opportunity to build an enviable knowledge base across all our products and utilize his / her experience in the share registry industry to enhance them, whilst leading the Ops function (~150 people) from a project perspective working very closely and enhancing his/her relationships across all levels of management, including both local and global senior management.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • The jobholder is also expected to bring excellent analytical skill, along with proven communication skill that tailor communications to suit different levels of audiences among different functions (e.g. Operations / Business / Technology) to analyze options, identify risks and drive alignments among them on topics that will have a significant to the company's future operational model.
  • At the same time, he / she will be confident to present to local / global senior management and executives across all areas of the business on project status updates, report on agreed outcomes, and escalate issues, including those that impacts the eligibility criteria of the business in the local market, with proposed solutions on a timely basis.
  • Externally, the job incumbent is expected to be one of the main day-to-day contacts for market stakeholders (e.g. Hong Kong Stock Exchange, peers in the share registry market) and local regulators (e.g. SFC) on topics in regulatory projects that will have a significant impact to the future operating model and the future success of the business.
  • Develop accurate and high quality operational flow and work with Operations SMEs in formulating operating procedures that meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as one of the key contact points for market stakeholders and local regulator on critical regulatory project
  • Identify risks and track through to resolution
  • Present analysis and process reviews to stakeholders, including local / global senior management and project teams
  • Manage workshops and meetings with business and technology
  • Leading the Ops team on the end to end execution of internal / industry wide UAT and market rehearsal
  • Work with our global PMO office to manage Projects to the correct level of governance and in line with our project management methodology
  • Analyse complex issues and identify root causes
  • Validate business cases to ensure all benefits are measurable
  • Work to agreed deadlines and coordinate others accordingly
  • Perform data analysis and generate proper reports to major stakeholders
  • Judge to design and implement effective changes which address business needs
    What will you bring to the role?
  • Extensive years of experience in the share registry business
  • Good understanding of business processes / market practices of the share registry industry
  • Proven experience in leading conversations and manage relationship with local regulatory (e.g. SFC), and major market stakeholder (e.g. Hong Kong Stock Exchange, intermediaries) and peers within the share registry industry.
  • Previous experience in driving market / process enhancement initiatives with the ability to partner with and influence different stakeholders effectively
