A role you will love

In this technical support role, you will work within the Global support team whose aim is to partner with the business to ensure they can meet the demands of their clients and markets through their use of technology.

This application Support Engineer role contains a mixture of systems analysis, debugging and operational support. You will be working with multiple internal stakeholders such as Product Managers, Development Teams, client relationship managers and consulting teams to drive and manage the operational and technical support of the business unit's main application and supporting systems. In addition, you will be involved in projects within the business and expected to take ownership of them.

Stakeholder engagement will be a key area for you, as you will be working with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to share knowledge and complex ideas, provide updates and influence and challenge when necessary.

Other key responsibilities:

  • Triage and resolve software application issues, including software debugging, analysing performance and data anomalies and coordinating fixes.
  • Work with development and infrastructure teams, as well as external vendors to determine the root cause of issues.
  • Assisting in resolution of product issues through client/customer education.
  • Development of automated processes to replace manual tasks and reduce associated risks.
  • Perform data and system analysis.
  • Active involvement in Service Transition from development teams.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders/customers.
  • Analysis of processes and requirements to liaise with stakeholders to develop and propose comprehensive solutions.
  • Review and document business processes linked to the enhancements of the product.
  • Provide training to stakeholders on newly released functionalities.
  • Maintain the production support and knowledge database.

What will you bring to the role?

As this position sits within a technical function, you will need to have experience working in a technology environment with knowledge of various technologies and support experience. You will also need to be able to build great relationships through stakeholder management.

You will be a collaborative person who enjoys working as part of a team and is able to discuss challenges in a way that helps others to see them, understand them and work through them.

Some other key skills that you'll have:

• Higher/Additional studies in Business Administration and/or commercial IT
• Understanding of data models and database structures using SQL
• Willingness to learn about the business and the technology on the job
• Strong support driven thinking and acting, client focus and service-orientation are a must
• Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills
• Excellent time management skills, negotiation and issue resolution skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional approach to interact with internal and external stakeholders
• Basic understanding of long term incentive plans would be a benefit (eg. Plan Design, Administration, Tax, etc.)
