The compass Search & Listings organization is responsible for ingesting, enriching and managing the real estate listings that are used by all downstream products teams at Compass, as well as powering the feature-rich listings search capability. The Listing Services team owns the services that sit at the nexus of data ingestion and search teams, and serves as a crucial platform for making our listings available, visible, and searchable for our customers as quickly as possible.

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer on the Listing Services Team, you will work on projects that deliver new capabilities to our agents and consumers that use the Compass platform. While you will primarily focus on front-end tasks, you will also work to implement, improve and scale the back-end services, all while collaborating cross-functionally with multiple teams across the organization to work towards the best possible solutions.

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will participate in the development of a technical strategy that will transform how listing data is managed to deliver the best experience for our agents and their clients. You’ll collaborate with engineering and product managers to meet KPIs for the Listings Services Team. Most importantly, you will take part in cross-team projects and ensure the delivery of critical business outcomes.

  • Work closely with Product, Design, and adjacent Engineering teams to deliver business critical features to our customers

What We Look For:

  • BS or MS in CS or EE, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience developing comprehensive, well-tested, and high-performance applications.
  • Proficiency in Java.
  • Proficiency in Javascript/Typescript on the server side and browser.
  • Basic experience with React.
  • Experience designing and extending large-scale systems, including RESTful APIs, microservice architectures, and data ingestion methods.
  • A track record as a technical leader with cross-team impact.
  • Understanding and adherence to industry-standard best practices in software development and architecture.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including S3, EKS, DynamoDB, Lambda, and MSK.

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $131,000-$197,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
