The M&A / Corporate Development team at Compass partners with our executive team and business leaders to drive growth and expansion into new markets and new lines of business. As an associate of Mergers and Acquisitions & Corporate Development you will support the M&A deal process, including valuation, deal structuring, diligence, and integration.  You will have the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively throughout the deal process - supporting both the transaction side and some elements of the post-closing workstreams, with authority and autonomy to make a direct impact on the company.  You will also be asked to support other impactful projects directly for the executive team.

At Compass You Will:

  • Nurture conversations with key prospective acquisition partners that fit the performance and culture expectations of Compass to lay the foundation for a strong, long-lasting relationship
  • Support the structuring and negotiating of deal terms that represent both the target’s driving motivations and Compass’ long-term goals
  • Project manage transactions - liaising both internally and externally to facilitate a seamless process
  • Report to company management on the effectiveness of revenue driving initiatives and make strategic recommendations
  • Assist the M&A management team with revenue growth initiatives and develop strategies for expedited transactions, better process management and smoother integrations
  • Work closely with Compass executives and regional leadership to contribute to the company's overall growth strategy

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ year of experience; finance, M&A and/or consulting experience a plus
  • Self­-starters with track records of excellence across strategic, operational, and detail-demanding functional responsibilities
  • Past experience in sophisticated transaction/project management and executive presence
  • Ability to multi­task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to operate, exercise judgment and solve difficult problems without direct supervision
  • Comfortable working in a fast-­paced and dynamic environment
  • Competitive and dashboard-­driven mindset
  • Articulate in both verbal and written communication
  • Ability to effectively lead client meetings and presentations
  • Highly organized; ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • High energy and positive attitude

Compensation: The salary pay range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 however, the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
