Applied Signal Technology: WHO WE AREWhat You Will Do:
- Apply your system engineering experience and technical domain expertise in 5G Core Networks to advance our next generation mobile telecommunication processing and network reconnaissance systems.
- Collaborate with technical leaders to further product visions and roadmaps and develop innovative solutions and new technology development through fielded capability support.
- Perform technical research, develop technical documentation, presentations, and lead concept demonstrations and/or contribute to bid and proposal activities related to system development.
- Travel up to 15% travel time to other AST sites and customer sites to support customers meetings and/or demonstrations, system deployments (installation, integration/validation/verification).
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with 3GPP standards, protocols, and network interfaces for core networks. Specifically, with the user plane function (UPF) and access and mobility management function (AMF), and messaging services.
- Experience developing system-level designs, high-level control and data interfaces.
- Familiarity with both the Non-Standalone (NSA) and Standalone (SA) 5G deployment architectures.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Active U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance or current SSBI.
- Experience with broadband communications including network operations, transport structures and switching equipment
- Experience formalizing, developing, and writing requirements, system concept of operations, plans, and procedures based on customer discussions, briefings, interactions, and statements of work.
- Experience with converged data management services (4G EPC HSS, 5GC UDM/AUSF).
- Experience with 5G Transport Network architectures and products including 5G service categories (eMBB, ULLRC, mMTC).
- Familiarity with network virtualization and/or containerization technologies (KVM, VMware, OpenStack, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, or Google.
