As a member of our State Government Affairs team, you will be responsible for helping to advocate for state and local public policy initiatives, and assisting with Coinbase’s engagement strategy with state legislators. Your experience working at the state or local level in government, as well as working as a policy advocate, will be vital to this role.
What you will be doing (i.e. job duties).
- Monitor and analyze state legislation impacting Coinbase.
- Work cross functionally with policy/regulatory/communications/product teams to determine impacts of state legislation and develop and communicate internal/external response.
- Design and implement public policy initiatives and engagement strategies with state legislators.
- Build and nurture relationships with legislators and key stakeholders like trade associations, peers at similar companies, non-profits, etc.
- Develop relevant materials for engagement with state officials - often for senior Coinbase employees.
- Manage output of Coinbase’s contract lobbyists.
- Represent Coinbase at state conferences across the country.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- Bachelor’s or non-US equivalent required.
- 5+ years of experience in government, government relations, or other advocacy/engagement roles at the state level.
- Previous working experience leading a portfolio of policy issues and coordinating policy-focused events.
- Familiarity with crypto policy issues.
- While this is a remote role, travel is an essential function of the job, 50%+ of your time may require travel to various parts of the country.
- You must be a strong self-starter and problem solver. This position will require you to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Being able to execute with little oversight will be paramount to success.
