Position Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring efficient supply chain operations. The Supply Planner will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives, optimise inventory, and support production schedules. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in supply chain management, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and business insights.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional activities and new product launches into demand forecasts.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess or shortage.
- Implement inventory control measures to maintain product availability and reduce carrying costs.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products.
- Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing teams to align with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
Order Management:
- Manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely placement and follow-up.
- Track and expedite orders to meet production and sales requirements.
Performance Analysis:
- Analyze supply chain performance metrics, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and service levels.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Reporting:
- Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain performance, inventory status, and demand forecast accuracy.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on analysis of supply chain data.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, manufacturing, sales, and marketing, to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
- Facilitate regular meetings with key stakeholders to review and update supply plans.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain and implement best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in supply chain management to drive innovation and efficiency.
Risk Management:
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, such as supplier reliability, market volatility, and logistical challenges.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
