Sr. Director, Sustainability Strategy & Planning

Responsible for the development of an integrated set of business metrics that reflect advancement of the Sustainability agenda. Responsible for leading and managing strategic business cases and valuations of emerging business models and relationships in support of our Sustainability objectives with an emphasis on NA (North America) system collections. This leader will importantly work across Global sustainability networks organization and leading external partners to identify and share best practices, ensuring the team is leading and working in the most networked way possible.

  • Leads our NA system collection strategy roadmap in partnership with bottlers & internal & external partners. This includes identifying strategic partnerships across NA bottling system and geographies to unlock strategic value in collection, procurement and supply chain to grow our material collection as well as recycled content in packaging.
  • Manage the integrated planning & performance for the North America OU Sustainability Team, inclusive of facilitating development of multi-year strategies, supporting roadmap of initiatives and performance measurement capabilities to determine progress vs. overarching objectives.
  • Together with VP/GM co-leads the development and management of NA Long-Range sustainability plan (LRP) in partnership with TI&S and Finance functions.
  • Partner with NAOU team, the Global Sustainability Network and external resources to define a balanced scorecard of business metrics in line with our Sustainability objectives.
  • Develops and maintains capability for performance management. Tracks performance and reports progress to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Partners with broad cross-functional stakeholders to develop business cases and also financially evaluate novel business models, partnerships and other types of relationships in support of our Sustainability and growth objectives. Ensures creative, yet prudent investment stance.
  • Provides project-specific analytical support and/or guidance on business case development and business model valuations as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred;
  • 10+ years' experience in strategy, finance, business analytics, M&A, performance management, program/project management or supply chain.
  • Proven experience and ability to apply Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking principles and methodologies to the team's work.
  • Working knowledge of the NA Finance, Capital Management, Business Planning and Performance processes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with divergent and convergent stakeholders; proven track record of collaboration and effective negotiation with cross-functional teams to drive engagement and effective action.

Work Focus

Partner across the Sustainability organization, the Global Sustainability Network and cross-functional stakeholder teams to create a balanced scorecard in support of our Sustainability Objectives and conduct on-going performance management. Conduct business analysis, business cases and valuations that are focused on maximizing progress vs both our Sustainability & growth/financial performance objectives.

Communication Focus

  • Explanation of Business cases & evaluations of new/novel business relationships in support of leadership decision making.
  • Report and explain performance vs. objectives and goals to a wide variety of internal and external constituents.
  • Promote a highly networked organization, leveraging and sharing best practices across teams, encouraging continuous learning and modeling a growth mindset
