Lead controls implementation and maintenance guidance to Maintenance department. Guide Engineering Controls practices and processes that ensure optimal machine performance and overall line efficiency and productivity. Supervise the identification, evaluation, and selective implementation of control solutions. Lead the department effort to explore, define, and implement new control practices and control processes within all areas related to automated Manufacturing Systems while ensuring the safety of our people, workplace and environment and meeting all company, legal and other requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as both a technical expert and a leader within the Plant. Lead by influence and expertise.
  • Plans control strategies for all automated equipment.
  • Guide maintenance of controls systems of production machinery to include all PLC driven equipment.
  • Assist with design and development of control systems for new equipment and systems.
  • Provide guidance on all controls systems.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair control systems.
  • Assist mechanics and provide control logic guidance and training.
  • Supervise (dotted line), educate, and train plant personnel.
  • Maintain expertise within the Controls Engineer field; stay abreast of new technology, emerging software code, and new equipment.

Qualifications

  • High degree of knowledge and skill level in programming of motion systems, PLC's, and associated Controls systems.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Allen Bradley.
  • 5 years of experience in a Controls Engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of controls systems development methodology.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Advanced PLC programming skills.
  • Leads by accomplishment and example.
  • Promotes a good working relationship with supervisors, co-workers, and staff.
  • Encourages and motivates others.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
