Position Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Supervisor manages the production team and functional resources in daily activities to deliver business results, in collaboration with the Production Manager. This position works with the Production Manager and assists with driving improvements in Safety, Manufacturing, and Quality Systems within the manufacturing plant. The Senior Manufacturing Supervisor assists with developing a culture of mutual respect that fosters front-line ownership of all production activities. This position assists with building a Lean culture focused on continuous improvement and cost structure improvement.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Ensure all plant, legal and regulatory practices and procedures are followed
- Lead daily and weekly review processes to track and reinforce progress versus action plans in alignment with the Production Manager
- Develop a maintenance-centered organizational structure that focuses on equipment uptime and operator feedback
- Manage daily activities such as team meetings, shift exchanges, daily direction-setting, visual controls, status-at-a-glance boards, etc.
- Monitor the production process, make periodic checks and adjust equipment or work practices according to standard operating procedures
- Manage daily labor OPEX budget and assist in monthly review of labor OPEX
- Utilize Lean tools to drive process improvement strategies in plant manufacturing operations
- Lead improvements for Making, Packing and Shipping, i.e., remove waste from the system and improve efficiencies, etc.
- Collaborate with other functional leaders across the plant to create synergies and maintain effective workflow
- Manage the team including hiring, coaching, performance management and talent development
- Other projects or duties as assigned
