Senior Manager, Design Activation (Design Operations)

As a key member of the North America Operating Unit (NAOU) Design Team, the Senior Manager, Design Activation will partner with Design leads and support the creation of brand identity systems and experiences for The Coca-Cola Company's regional and global brands.

Senior Manager, Design Activation, is a pivotal design operations role. As an individual contributor, primary responsibilities include evaluate new briefs and project requests, oversee tier three projects with agency partners, manage and balance team capacity, request and evaluate estimates, request and manage POs, initiate and monitor TELA and SRA submissions. This role works closely with the NAOU design leads to ensure projects are progressing to meet key milestones.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of operationally supporting design and creative projects in an agency or in-house design team. The role is based in Atlanta, GA with in-office collaboration every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Focus, Scope, & Impact:

  • Support Design Leads to steward the design process, phases, milestones and deliverables from brief to production hand-off
  • Facilitate efficient transition from design to production team to ensure final output, inclusive of 3D renders and mockups, are consistent with overall brand goals and creative intent
  • Ensure organizational system (structure, process, information, technology, people, budget and time) are in place to support the accomplishment of the business objective/project deliverables
  • Analyze situations/deliverables and take action to remove barriers or obstacles that could prevent project deliverables from being completed as required
  • Leverage project management tools and processes to lead and manage NAOU deliverables including but not limited to project charter, project plans, project sponsors, PMO creation, status routines etc.
  • Thriving in a deadline-driven environment while managing a variety of projects in different stages of completion
  • Establish, manage and steward relationship with key business partners and stakeholders
  • Champion brand standards and VIS, providing ad hoc consultatory support on accurate application of VIS, engaging Design Leads where necessary
  • Span of work includes USA/Canada, total portfolio of categories & brands, as well as support of key global initiatives across networked organization

Experience

  • 5 or more years of agency experience, preferably design, with understanding of visual identity system application throughout various connection points
  • Demonstrated strength in project management, cross-functional project and deliverables management, budget tracking and stewardship and ability to work effectively in an agile, networked environment
  • Ability to understand design and packaging production process, ensuring seamless handoff from design to production team
  • Ability to work in Agile cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communications skills, prioritization and organization
  • Bachelor's Degree required

Communication Focus

  • The person in this role will communicate with marketing partners within and outside of the Company, including Category/Brand leads, Creative Strategy and Content leads, Connections leads, Sports, Colleges & Universities, and Entertainment leads, Platform Services leads, Content production leads, Global Teams (Operating Unit (OU) design leads in other OUs), cross-agency and creative industry partners

Knowledge Requirements

Mastery of (REQUIRED)

1 Superior project management with consistent over-delivery of results, on-time and on-budget

2 Adept communication style with ability to clearly communicate creative strategy and ideas to influence and inspire belief across multi-disciplinary stakeholders

3 Strong understanding of the design process, in an agency environment or in-house creative team.

Broad Expertise In (GOOD TO HAVE)

1 Print and production experience

2 Culture change mindset, inspiring and infusing creativity in how we work and build ideas of the future

3 Agile expertise + process improvement mindset, driving new ways of working across networked, interdisciplinary OU and cross-geography teams.
