Position Overview:

  • Responsible of leading, designing, and delivering projects, for CAPEX projects. This includes CAPEX fund management to ensure actual spend align with spend forecast, committed to CPS Center.
  • Being Project Management Office (PMO) for CAPEX projects to ensure project's milestones and execution are hit according to timeline.
  • Being plant representative during discussion with vendor regarding User Requirement Specification (URS) creation, bidding, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), commissioning, and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) process.
  • Involved in routines for projects ideation e.g. Plant of the Future (PoF), Site Master Plan (SMP), Long Range Planning (LRP).

  • PROJECT DESIGN AND DELIVERY

    Liaise with user to create comprehensive URS, explore available engineering solution in market from various reputable vendors, perform Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) if needed, perform iterative adaptation between user specification and available option to conclude the best reasonable solution.

    With the assistance of Finance team, engage in negotiation and purchasing (PO creation) of service and goods in the scope of projects from local and overseas vendors as requested by the plant's needs.

    Lead the project delivery, monitoring progress, and hands on in FAT, installation, commissioning, SAT, and 'baby-sitting' during operational and performance review prior to hand over to maintenance and operational team.

    Collect all important documentation during project design and delivery such as drawings, FAT, commissioning, SAT, and performance review result, Berita Acara Serah Terima (BAST), operational and maintenance handbook.

    Update the project status and payment release time in SAP.

    Provide proper handover and trainings (not always as trainer) to maintenance and operational team.

    Strict compliance to COBC (Code of Business Conduct), Safety, KORE, and any other new policy/requirement.
  • MENTORING AND ADVISORY

    Be mentor and or advisor to selected project leaders from another department.

    Assess and monitor the document collection from projects led by another department.

    Monitor project progress (Project Management Office/PMO) that led by other departments.
  • STRATEGY

    Contribute advice and suggestion in PoF, SMP, and LRP discussion.

    Provide project and fund status to Engineering Manager as discussion material to global and local stakeholder through agreed platform and routine, such as current SAP system, PowerApps, and several routine meetings.

Education Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 10 years relevant experience is essential (project execution, equipment installation commissioning and validation), preferably in a manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrate experience of delivering enhancements to systems is required.
  • Willing to take challenges, show confidence in ambiguous situations.

Functional Skills:

  • Project control and management: scheduling adherence, budgeting, proper document control
  • Technical knowledge to assess and compare available solution in market, e.g. piping, instrumentation, automation, water treatment, wastewater treatment, CIP&COP skid, process equipment, end of line equipment (liquid and powder), etc.
  • Basic knowledge on safety and sustainability to be incorporated into URS.
  • Create workshop to gather user's persona (expectation, pain point, needs).
  • Convert the user persona into URS with technical language.
  • Communicate the URS to vendors.
  • Compare vendors and option, based on technical view, vendor's reputation, after sales solution, life cycle cost.
  • Negotiate or adapt the user persona to vendor's or budget limitation to get the best reasonable solution.
  • Communicate effectively to local and global stakeholder regarding project status, constraint, timeline, and budgeting.
  • Provide mentorship session to more junior project leader from another department.
  • Provide handover and training to maintenance and operational team.
