Job Description Summary

Our scientists help support that future and we're looking for a candidate that can a solid microbiology background and experience to support the beverage product development with micro risk assessment E2E from ingredient, formula, process, manufacture and line validations, and clearly communicate and closely collaborate cross function team for micro risk mitigation to enable the business technical solutions.

What You'll Do for Us

  • Design, align, conduct and/or review microbial experiments to support quality by design, clearly communicate the result, insight and mitigation plan independently with major stakeholders in APAC.
  • Provide microbiology SME support to troubleshooting during NPD as needed with cross-functional teams.
  • Capture and consolidate key challenges and create key action plans for different categories proactively.
  • Leverage historical database and best practice to gain insight for robust microbiological risk assessment.
  • Lead new microbiology research project and secure effective coordination and communication to both global and local projects.
  • Transform new research opportunity into business performance improvement together with other teams.
  • Share scientific view of MRA to bring bigger impact within F&B industry together with SRA team.
  • Influence external partners (bottlers) for better and faster business expansion with solid knowledge base.
  • Provide mentorship for the junior microbiologist from scientific research perspective.
  • Develop digitalized toolset/modelling to support next generation of microbial risk management.
  • Harmonize/review existing databases, guidelines, and influence/update new guidelines/SOPs together within global E2E microbiology/verification & validation network.
  • Design/optimize fit-in-purpose risk assessment procedures/methods to meet the needs from internal partners.
  • Lead big bets/wins project support based on solid MRA knowledge and experience to cover full categories. across APAC including GCM, J&K, ASP and INSWA OU.
  • Act as internal process authority for aseptic/chill/ultra clean line validation for commercial production.
  • Lead new microbiological research opportunities by working with other categories/OU/GDI.
  • Participate microbiology related associations and promote science-based insight together with SRA.
  • Lead one or more workstream within global E2E microbiology/verification & validation network to bring more impact in food safety and quality within Coke System.
  • Provide microbiological training/sharing to internal & external partners from different categories/OUs/bottlers.
  • Modernize microbiology with digitalized tools towards predictive microbiology to support business growth.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or post graduate degree in Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Food Science & Technology, Food Safety, Food Engineering, Biotechnology (with focus on food applications).
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a microbiology function, preferably within an FMCG Research and Development department. However, candidates from other industries with a strong knowledge and background in microbiology are also welcome to apply.
  • Solid knowledge of food microbiology and beverage product development
  • Project management skill. Multiple project prioritization, and time management.
  • In depth knowledge of food processing technology, line verification & validation
  • Strong communication skills and self-driven mindset
  • Knowledge of microbiology in extending area, e.g. quality system, GMP, manufacturing hygiene, plant quality review, clean & sanitization will be a plus.
  • Strong Microbiology background required with experience in food and beverage.
  • Project and program management skills required.
  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage industry, familiar with Japanese beverage industry will be a plus.
