Job Description Summary:

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager Maintenance role will lead site wide maintenance, engineering and reliability strategy for Juice manufacturing units for our Peterborough plant in Ontario Canada. The incumbent will lead and mentor the maintenance team to drive excellence, reliability, maintain compliance with regulatory for ammonia refrigeration systems, TSSA, wastewater and other relevant legislations. This role interacts and build collaboration with entire operations team (including production, quality & warehouse) to drive site performance by establishing and executing preventive maintenance programs, spare parts availability, building capability in the team and driving improvements with passion. This role support capital projects on site, and the use of tools such as SAP, continuous improvement methods and reliability programs to improve overall business results and reduce downtimes. This is an onsite role.

What You'll Do for Us

  • Develop, align and execute multi-year maintenance strategy for the site including capital projects
  • Train, coach and mentor employees, front line leaders and parts buyer to drive excellence in maintenance operations
  • Establish and roll out routines to meet PM expectations and compliance
  • Serve as strategic and tactical leader/partner to implement and sustain site operating model to ensure standard maintenance routines are suitability in practice
  • Executes routines to ensure compliance with maintenance and engineering KPIs and metrics
  • Develop troubleshooting and technical capabilities across the board for process, packaging, utilities and building maintenance
  • Responsible for maintaining infrastructure for production and warehousing such as process, packaging, utilities, building, wastewater, water treatment and material handling equipment
  • Develop & execute coaching program to build operational excellence culture in the department to ensure downtimes are assessed deeply and corrective actions are put in place for prevention
  • Lead on site capital projects execution in collaboration and guidance from corporate engineering
  • Identifies manufacturing process requirements, improvement opportunities and best practices for site, ensuring alignment with site operating model and corporate guidelines and drive those projects/activities
  • Efficiently plan and train the workforce to cover wastewater operations, water treatment operations, ammonia refrigeration operations and critical infrastructure operations
  • Efficiently utilize resources, external contractors and manpower to drive efficiency in the business
  • Lead on site contractors for safety and quality compliance
  • Lead focused improvement projects for maintenance function to drive cultural change
  • Develop effective collaboration with site management, outside network, cross functional teams and project/process owners to implement new processes or guidelines, develop reports, and receive approval when/as required
  • Effectively communicating and delivering maintenance performance to meet/exceed site productivity targets
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and owner building technical capabilities and managing engineering change control for the site
  • Partner with functional leaders in the ISO, GMP, FSSC, AIB, KORE and other internal/external audits and drive ownership of actions to drive improvements for development of procedures and corrective actions in the department
  • Utilizes data to analyze equipment failure modes, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), etc. and suggests/implements improvement processes to reduce or eliminate equipment/process failures
  • Lead spare parts function, supplies management for maintenance and system utilization for work orders, parts issuance, inventory counts routines etc.
  • Closely work with Safety, Quality, Production & Warehouse department to drive site performance
  • Ensures compliance with all equipment including utilities as per regulatory and internal KORE standards
  • Travel to other sites in the Coca Cola system as needed, within and outside Canada
  • Perform other duties as necessary and/or assigned

Qualifications:

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Engineering/Science degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, at least 5 years of maintenance leadership experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Experience with refrigeration system, ammonia processes and wastewater is highly desired
  • Experience in commissioning and startup of process, packaging or utilities equipment
  • Experience in the Food Manufacturing industry highly desired

NOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience in the Food & Beverage manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Provincial, Federal regulations for a dairy manufacturing facility is a plus.
  • Experience with CIP systems, regulatory requirements for food manufacturing (Such as CFIA) is needed
  • Specific knowledge of GMP's and batch process control in the food science industry with validation experience is a plus
  • Strong Engineering & Maintenance experience and working knowledge of plant maintenance software, SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency in commissioning and startup of control systems.
  • Ability to work with engineers, external vendors, operators and management to manage projects and assignments is essential.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control systems from the field element up through operator interfaces and databases if desired
  • Familiarity with control system networking technologies and PC networking technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
  • Familiarity with Canadian electrical and safety requirements
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the Electric Code and international standards.
  • Tolerance of ambiguity.
  • Working knowledge of national, provincial, and local regulatory requirements in the areas of food safety, safety, environment and emergency management.
  • Proficiency reading and red-lining PI&D drawings for process troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, and other leading PLC/HMI brands is plus
  • Familiarity with Endress + Hauser instrumentation (flow meters, level transmitters, RTDs/temperature transmitters, level probes, etc.)
