Job Summary
The Procurement and Supply Management (P&SM) department ensures internal stakeholders have the appropriate products and services to deliver customer needs. P&SM manages the complete supply chain and relationship with CN's suppliers, including through call for tender, contract and commercial negotiations, procure to pay process and supplier governance. P&SM manages on a yearly basis billion dollars of spend and thousands of suppliers, serving the company and its long-term strategy. The Performance Team has the mission to support the P&SM department to meet its strategic objectives. Its members work to improve department efficiency by leading projects, developing key capabilities, leveraging data to support business decisions, standardizing processes, providing training and coaching, and overseeing the department governance.

The Data and Process Senior Analyst, Procurement Performance is responsible for leading projects and mandates to improve processes and tools for the P&SM department. The incumbent acts as an influencer and facilitator within the department. In addition, the role ensures the development of multiple performance capabilities such as Data Analytics, Process Management, and Continuous Improvement. In many aspects, this position acts as a change catalyst within the department by challenging status quo, proposing valuable initiatives and managing changes and transitions.
Main Responsibilities
Build and Sustain Performance Capabilities
• Lead efforts to define and implement initiatives selected by the P&SM leadership leveraging recognized project management methodologies.
• Lead the delivery of the departmental data analytics roadmap, including developing data models, data governance, reporting and visualization, rolling out new data solutions and tools, educating others on data analytics practices and supporting initiatives to increase the overall use of data
• Maintain existing dashboards and KPIs, monitor failures and incidents reports and take any corrective actions and enhancement required to sustain existing solutions.
• Lead the definition and tracking of key performance indicators, including supporting other teams in compiling data and generating reports.
• Lead the sustainment and improvement of the department's processes, including managing cross-functional process reengineering and value stream mapping initiatives.
• Lead the roll out and sustainment of a lean management system by being a lean leader role model and coaching peers and others in developing similar skills.
Deliver Improvement Projects
• Identify, initiate and plan improvement mandates and projects to ensure alignment with the department's leadership and overall CN strategy
• Lead mandates and projects delivery end to end, including solution design, implementation and sustainment
• Implement and standardize processes and routines within P&SM, and provide proper support to various teams through the transition
• Act as a project manager by coordinating tasks of indirect resources assigned to projects
• Ensure accurate and regular communication and feedback throughout projects such as follow-ups, regular project team updates, leadership updates, etc.
Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment. CN adopts a hybrid working conditions with 3 days mandatory at the office (Mon-Tues-Thurs), 2 days at home.
Requirements
Experience
• 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in continuous improvement, process management, data analytics or strategic planning.
• Experience in a procurement function as a strategic procurement specialist will be considered an important asset.
Education/Certification/Designation
• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science and Business Analysis, Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain Business Administration, Management, or equivalent
• Master degree in Data Science and Business Analysis, Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain Business Administration, Management, or equivalent *
• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
• Certification in continuous improvement methodologies

• Certification in Project Management, Tableau, SAP, Power BI
Any designation for the above would be considered as an asset

• Bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)

Technical Skills/Knowledge
• Strong Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
• Knowledge of Procurement processes, strategic sourcing and Procure to Pay (P2P) principles.
• Good knowledge of data engineering principles
• General Microsoft Office skills
• Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) such as SAP
• Knowledge of AI platform Dataiku

• Knowledge of SAP Ariba, Fieldglass, Smartsheet and Tradeshift
• Proficient in process mapping and analysis methodologies

• Knowledge of the continuous improvement concepts and principles (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean)
