Job Summary
• Responsible for day to day supervision of front line police officers and activities within assigned division including scheduling, measuring performance, communication with subordinates and preliminary investigation of complaints or disciplinary matters.

• Responsible for safety and security for emergency situations, such as internal or external strikes, derailments, accidents, etc.;
• Ensure the protection of the Company's employees and customers against all criminal acts, its assets and the prosecution of offenders by planning, directing and managing the CN Police Operations;
• Identify priorities to address across the territory
• Develop action plans and facilitate implementation in collaboration with their subordinates.
• Act as a Resource person for interpretation and application of company policies and responsible for providing CN departmental managers at several levels with advice and recommendations on all police and security matters. Develop good relationships with external agencies and municipal police to raise awareness of railway operation safety and security
• Review practices with operations Managers in order to reduce incidents and improve security.
Requirements:
• Police Certification;
• University management Certificate;
• 10 years of policing experience including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role;
• Proven Management skills for effective management of human, material, financial resources;
• Strong leadership ability (able to direct, coach and provide feedback);
• Demonstrated discretion to deal with highly confidential information;
• Strong strategic thinking and planning
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• A good understanding of the legislative framework surrounding investigations;
• Ability to prioritize important issues and work under strict deadlines; must be able to analyze and synthesize complex data from multiple sources;
• Computer efficiency
