This role is integral in developing design strategies to meet user and business goals, deliver world-class user experiences, and drive meaningful results. The Product Designer will work closely with product owners, product managers, UX analysts, graphic designers, SEO specialists, and other stakeholders to ideate new product features and optimize site functionality and content.

You should come in on your first day ready to take initiative, learn fast, clear up ambiguity, and navigate change. All this to say: at Clearlink, we're ready for anything and everything.

The Impact You Will Make:

  • Design Systems and Interaction Design
      1. Foundational UI knowledge: Demonstrate mastery of visual hierarchy, typography, color theory, UI elements consistency, whitespace, responsive design, grid systems, iconography, feedback, micro-interactions, navigation design, loading states, error handling, and UI patterns through collaboration.
      2. Design System Documentation: Create and manage comprehensive site guide documentation for product design elements and patterns, emphasizing scalability for future content and product growth while prioritizing flexibility to meet changing user needs and product features.
      3. Design Specifications and Handoff: Document thorough design specifications for developers, oversee a seamless and collaborative handoff of design assets and information to development teams, and ensure the implemented UI aligns with the intended visual design through the user acceptance testing feedback process.
      4. Feature Functionality: Design and optimize site tools, including search and interactive forms, to expedite user goal achievement, incorporating features like filters, sorting options, and other tool-specific functionalities.
      5. Feedback Systems: Create feedback mechanisms to clearly inform users about the outcome of their interactions, such as success messages, error messages, and notifications.
      6. Microinteractions: Create subtle animations and micro-interactions that offer feedback that guides users to improve overall usability, considering how UI elements respond to user inputs like button clicks or form submissions.
      7. Accessibility: Implement inclusive design principles to ensure digital product accessibility for users with diverse abilities, adhering to accessibility standards and guidelines such as WCAG.

    Wireframing and Prototyping
      1. Foundational UX knowledge: Demonstrate deep knowledge of Neilsen's heuristics, UX principles (usability, consistency, feedback, learnability), user behaviors (cognitive load, Hick's Law, Fitt's Law, etc.), information scent, affordances, and signifiers through collaboration.
      2. Wireframing Information Structures: Generate low-fidelity wireframes through stakeholder workshops, outlining the basic structure and layout of the product or page with a focus on content placement and information hierarchy.
      3. Layout and Composition: Design screen and page layouts, arranging navigation elements, content blocks, and interactive components to ensure a clear and intuitive flow of information throughout the user interface.
      4. Responsive Design: Create responsive interfaces adaptable to various screen sizes and devices, with thoughtful consideration for the user experience on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
      5. Iconography and Imagery: Collaborate with Visual Designers to create brand-aligned icons and integrate imagery and graphics into products and pages, enhancing the user experience and effectively conveying information.
      6. Transitions and Animations: Define transitions for interface states, encompassing page transitions, hover effects, and animated elements, ensuring animations enhance the user experience without becoming distracting.
      7. High-fidelity Prototyping: Create interactive prototypes to simulate the user experience and test the functionality of design concepts

    Ideation, User Flows, and Testing
      1. Brainstorming: Contribute to stakeholder ideation sessions to generate creative concepts and ideas for digital products or pages.
      2. Concept Development and Iterative Design: Compose and refine design concepts based on project requirements and user insights, iterating on designs using data analytics and user testing insights to enhance overall interaction design.
      3. User Flows and Task Flows: Collaborate with Product Managers to map out the logical flow of interactions within the product, ensuring a cohesive progression for users across different pathways and scenarios as they navigate the interface.
      4. User Testing: Create design variations for A/B and usability testing, evaluate their effectiveness with product stakeholders, and gather real-time insights by observing user interactions with the product or site.
