Job Description
Data and Research Manager manages a group of analysts that works primarily with tax and water customer data from internal City systems and external Federal, State, and third-party sources for the purposes of driving revenue generation, reporting on revenues and receivables, responding to information requests, and conducting data analysis/enhancement.
Essential Functions
- Manages a group of analysts that works primarily with tax and water customer data from internal City systems and external Federal, State, and third-party sources for the purposes of driving revenue generation, reporting on revenues and receivables, responding to information requests, and conducting data analysis/enhancement.
- Coordinates across units, departments, and outside partners on relevant projects and cross-departmental initiatives.
- Attends internal and external working groups, panels, and meetings as required by the Data and Research Unit and Department of Revenue core mission.
- Extensive knowledge of all data systems available to our staff
- Leveraging the strengths of available staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of all assignments and requests that are within the Data and Research unit’s scope of responsibility.
- Managers must have a strong mix of technical ability, interpersonal skills and organizational skills to fulfill their responsibilities of guiding the day-to-day activity of the Data and Research Units.

- Experience in building ETL workflows and Data Warehousing

- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments
Ideal candidate(s) will preferably have an intermediate knowledge of SQL, Python, R, ArcGIS and BI visualization tools
Qualifications
Successful candidate(s) will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Educational level- Undergraduate or graduate
- Experience- 5 years of relevant professional experience within the department or 3 years in management role outside of the department, primarily in a data management setting

Salary Range: $86,000 - $94,722
