Position Summary
The Resource Coordinator is responsible for facilitating a positive experience at City of Hope. This will be achieved through coordinating resources and executing multiple job duties/functions.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Meets, greets and assists patients, guests and colleagues with way finding (providing directions), obtaining various resources and providing minimal transport.
- May conduct and explain the intent of screening
- Practices appropriate health and safety protocols
- Conduct screen: temperature checks, questions regarding travel, personal
- Follows all requirements related to personal protective equipment, cleaning and distancing
- Post-screen, direct staff and visitors accordingly
- Assist with coordinating multiple resources in a timely manner
- Monitors assigned door entrances/exists
- Ensure satisfaction by listening, requesting information, asking questions, and escalating issues to appropriate individual
- May transport patients to and from the designated departments/areas
- Conducts periodic checks on individuals in the waiting areas/lobbies and provide visual inspection of areas to determine if any safety/housekeeping concerns need to be reported to leadership
- Ensures that patient and business confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Demonstrates a willingness and ability to help others at all times.
- Follows site specific safety and security procedures.
- Practices preventative safety procedures as set forth by hospital, including safe lifting techniques.
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- High School Diploma
Preferred education experience and skills:
- Currently enrolled in nursing school (LVN or BSN) or currently enrolled in a clinical education program
Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of related computer system
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Knowledge of equipment including telephones, codes and alarms, two-way radios, disaster phone, fire panel and surveillance system.
- Ability to perform general typing and basic computer skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Maintain high level of productivity
- Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills
- Foster and promote a positive and professional image
- Sensitivity to intercultural relations

- Microsoft Office
- Electronic Medical Record (any)
Machines/Equipment:
- Fax, Copier, Scanner
Physical Demands:
Manual dexterity and motion
Ongoing reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motions, manual dexterity and mobility
Extensive, prolonged or considerable standing and walking
Physical lifting effort is limited to lift / carry of maximum 50 pounds
Push/pull requirement of up to 50 lbs
Lifting and transferring of patients is noted above
Works at personal computer involving focused attention
Works at computer tasks involving hand/wrist coordination
Additional Information:
- To protect the health of patients and staff and to comply with new State of California mandates, City of Hope staff are required to show proof of full vaccination by September 30, 2021. Compliance is a condition of employment.
