SENIOR BUSINESS MANAGER - RNDIP
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position will work directly with the City National Bank's ("CNB") Banking and Control Officer ("BCO") for Banking and Wealth Management and will assume a pivotal role as an advisor and partner to the Risk Framework leadership team. Responsibilities will encompass issue identification, solution design, and implementation, leveraging industry practices and regulatory insights. This role is expected to contribute constructively and balance challenges, ensuring alignment of business objectives with CNB's risk appetite and established limits.
Office of the President Division
Working within the Office of the President division, you will be part of the team that provides strategic support and guidance to City National's commercial lines of business with a strong focus on integrated and streamlined risk and compliance programs.

What you will do
- At the direction of the Business Control Officer for Banking & Wealth Management act as an intermediary/point person for City National Bank's ("CNB's) Retail Non-Depository Investment Products (the "RNDIP") program.
- Build and sustain effective relationships and alliances both internally and across all lines of business and staff areas to help deliver results and to ensure opportunities are identified, analyzed and managed appropriately. Understand interdependencies to achieve success.
- Analyze, evaluate and periodically review current risk management practices relating to RNDIP activities across the organization, including activities at network affiliates. Collaborate closely with colleagues across the 2nd and 3rd lines to strengthen the control environment and enhance risk management practices.
- Execute essential risk program functions relating to other banking and wealth management activities, including Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA's), Key Risk Indicators (KRI's), Issue Management, Operational Losses, and more. Provide informed and valuable risk and control perspectives to executive management.
- Contribute to the development of a robust risk culture, risk conduct, and risk literacy within the first line of defense, including design and implementation of preventive and detective controls relating to banking and wealth management activities.
- Prioritize organizational risk management objectives.
- Facilitate audit and examination activities.
- Cultivate and grow risk talent within the organization through coaching, mentoring, and occasionally assisting with review of applicable training.
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7 years managing projects
- 7 years within or related to financial services
Skills and Knowledge
- MBA, JD, or other advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, Masters, etc.) preferred
- 7-10 years of experience managing projects
- 7-10 years in a role requiring complex problem solving
- Investment Management experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills - and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources
- Strong emerging end-to-end generalist problem solving skills, e.g.,
- Defining and deconstructing problems
- Prioritizing issues and analysis
- Structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses
- Knowledge in Financial Services, Project Management
- Demonstrated ability to Influence change, build relationships, communicate effectively, work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and deliver high caliber results.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Diverse problem solving experience
- An outstanding ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), work well in cross-functional teams
- Quick learning ability, outstanding analytical skills and a structured way of thinking, your attention to details is exceptional
- Operate well under stress, even faced with tight timelines for ambitious deliverables Significant experience in driving operational change with front line to senior leadership personnel
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Be able to handle uncertainty well, and are able to simplify complexity
Compensation
Starting base salary: $127,626 - $237,014 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
