WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

As a member of the Controller's Department, this position will perform responsibilities for the bank's fixed assets portfolio. In addition, this position will perform other bank related accounting, reporting, and analysis functions. The position will also work with the Controller's Department to leverage technology to automate and streamline various processes.

What you will do

  • Processes and manages fixed assets system, including additions, deletions, software project deployments, monthly depreciation and reconciliations.
  • Reviews fixed asset invoices from accounts payable to ensure adherence to capitalization policies
  • Prepares analysis to support SOP 98-1 capitalization for internal costs
  • Preparation and review of fixed assets and WIP roll forward schedules
  • Coordinates and reviews project reports from corporate premises department
  • Provide data to third-party service provider for preparation of all annual property tax filings
  • Point of contact for all fixed assets audits (internal, external, regulatory) as it relates to audit requests and inquiries
  • Assists with impairment analysis and asset de-recognition process for fixed assets
  • Assists project team with reengineering accounting processes, including development of workflows and dashboards
  • Responsible for various GL account reconciliations related to responsible accounting areas
  • Assists with the preparation and review of reports and journal entries for lease accounting under ASC 842
  • Supports Accounting Supervisor with monthly/quarterly accounting reports and balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
  • Cross trains and develops knowledge with other accounting functions
  • Maintains the general ledger and its subsidiary ledgers, including analyzing, preparing and posting entries
  • Interaction with key stakeholders across the Company on accounting matters
  • Develops technology skills utilizing Alteryx, Tableau and Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Power Query and Access
  • Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.)
  • Completes all required training

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 4 years general accounting experience
  • Completed required coursework to sit for the CPA exam

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Prior experience with fixed assets system is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships within the Finance Division and Key Partners throughout the Bank.
  • Completed required coursework to sit for the CPA exam
  • CPA and 4 years of public accounting experience or equivalent experience preferred.
  • General ledger application processing experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff.

Compensation

Starting base salary: $71,869 - $114,797 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
