This is a 10-week paid learning experience from June 2nd to August 8th, offering $15.00 per hour. Interns will follow a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and will work 40 hours per week during standard business hours
The role of a Corporate Finance Intern:
The Corporate Finance Intern will collaborate with Film, Food & Beverage, and Operations to analyze financial performance at the theatre and regional levels, identify trends, and develop standard reporting. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) while working on impactful projects that drive business operations and identify opportunities to save costs or drive revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Initial Phase: Meet with FP&A teams to discuss challenges in tracking theatre-level performance and understand the complexities involved.
- Variance Analysis: Investigate discrepancies between actual spending and budget/forecast figures. Analyze categories such as Film (theatre programming and show performance), Food & Beverage (concession trends), and Operations (utilities, repairs, maintenance, and supplies).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Finance Business Partner teams and Regional Vice Presidents and General Managers to understand and support regional operational finance.
- Data-Driven Recommendations: Conduct cost/revenue analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement at the theatre level.
- Reporting: Develop standard reports to analyze KPIs at the theatre or regional level, covering monthly performance across Film, Food & Beverage, and Operations.
Requirements:
- Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related fields at an accredited university
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Anaplan and Essbase a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Eager to tackle challenging projects and make a meaningful impact
