2025 Internship Program:
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic interns to join our Corporate Internship Program located at the Cinemark Service Center in Plano, TX.

This program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within an inclusive and collaborative environment. As an Intern, you will work closely with a professional mentor, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain valuable insights into the corporate world.

This is a 10-week paid learning experience from June 2nd to August 8th, offering $15.00 per hour. Interns will follow a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and will work 40 hours per week during standard business hours.

The role of an Accounting Intern:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-life insight to the financial reporting process within a publicly traded company. The ideal Accounting Intern is inquisitive by nature and eager to learn about both the day-to-day transactions and the high-level processes. You will be instrumental in driving back-office efficiency to support our business partners with accurate and timely financial information, while also supporting impactful process improvement initiatives across the Accounting and Treasury functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting

    • Assist with the preparation of Cinemark's quarterly SEC filings for the second quarter of 2025, including the preparation of select supporting schedules.
    • Learn about financial analysis and accounting, including how these elements intersect with regulatory financial statement and disclosure requirements, the earnings release, the earnings call and investor presentations.
    • Gain exposure to complex, high-volume transactions in real estate contracts, inventory management, and deferred revenue reporting.
    • Observe and work alongside various internal departments as they collaborate to support leadership in their preparation for the earnings call to publicly report the company's financial results for the quarter.
    • Possible opportunity to participate in select meetings with senior management in connection with the review of quarterly results and earnings preparation.
    • Assist with the evaluation of new accounting pronouncements and other technical accounting areas, summarizing any applicable findings for a summary provided to and/or presented to senior management within the Finance organization, including the CFO.
    • Support schedule preparation and data gathering, reviewing data closely to ensure accuracy.
  • Process Improvement

    • Learn and document the broad scope of processes across Accounting and Treasury, understanding the various data sources and each team's responsibilities.
    • Identify potential process improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies in the process.
    • Gain an understanding of the operational side of Accounting, including systems, key transaction points, and challenges.

Requirements:

  • Seniors pursuing an Accounting or Finance degree at an accredited university
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, XLOOKUPS)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to use discretion in working with confidential information
  • Process-driven with demonstrated project management skills
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities
