C.H. Robinson is seeking a Lead Warehouse Associate to play a pivotal role in training, coaching, and overseeing our warehouse team. In this position, you'll ensure the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight from trailers or ocean containers, maintaining the flow of materials within the warehouse. The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support warehouse supervisory team in adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure their implementation
- Assist warehouse team in utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS), including training and troubleshooting, to maintain efficient warehouse organization
- Receive goods from customers and suppliers by offloading and loading vehicles, checking paperwork, weighing, measuring, and reporting discrepancies or damages
- Operate stand-up, sit-down forklifts, and hand jacks for palletization, stretch wrapping, and banding of cargo
- Load and unload trailers/ocean containers in a professional and damage-free manner
- Prepare outbound loads by matching paperwork, labeling, and handling Unit Load Device (ULD) preparation
- Sign off Bills of Lading accurately, verifying counts and damages
- Stage cargo within the warehouse safely and orderly
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization standards through general housekeeping
- Ensure quality standards are met according to standard operating procedures (SOP) or customer requirements, including reworking or recouping freight
- Contribute to the development of new SOPs related to new business, products, or process changes
- Site Specific: Regular duties include cross-functional areas such as receiving, loading, picking, shipping, etc.
- Site Specific: Completion of weekly bond checks
- Site Specific: Execute Dock-to-Stock procedures and regulations at all times, maintaining building perimeter security and challenging anything or anyone untoward
- Site Specific: Handle bonded import freight into the External Temporary Storage (ERTS) facility in accordance with regulations and breakdown of inbound ULD's as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum 2 years of previous warehouse operations experience
- Possess good physical stamina and coordination
- Could be required to stand and/or walk for long periods daily while frequently bending, twisting, reaching, and periodically lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Certified forklift operator
- Applicants in a warehouse role must complete a pre-employment drug screen as part of a conditional job offer
- Site Specific: Ability to work flexible hours and days
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with Bills of Lading, Shipping Manifests, Delivery Orders, etc.
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Site Specific: Ability to speak Spanish
