Responsibilities:

  • Growth:

    • Learns how to use Atmosphere to identify, call and track prospects in order to gain core customer opportunities
    • Participates in the CHR GF learning university in order to raise their knowledge and skillset as they prepare themselves for a GF outside sales
    • Develops understanding on how to execute outside sales activities to meet or exceed daily, monthly, or annual expectations set by the Regional Sales Manager (RSM)


    • Responds to inbound leads for the sales region, under RSM leadership, from a variety of sources including NAST, MSRT, overseas GF regions, or as directed by the RSM
    • Actively drives, organizes and creates metrics for outbound leads for the sales region through a variety of prospecting tools including Atmosphere, Hoovers, Panjiva, or as guided by RSM.
    • Understands and stays informed of the customers' business, industry, and sector and applies that knowledge to identify opportunities, overcome objections, build credibility, and articulate where we can provide value within the customer's supply chain
    • Interprets how multiple factors effecting market conditions could impact a customer's supply chain and can deliver a persuasive case for change
    • Works with the pricing team to identify the right pricing strategy through a clear understanding of customer buying habits and CHR's position within the customer's supply chain

  • Effectively communicates externally to customers and prospects while acting as a bridge to internal stakeholders, such as account management, pricing, product,network leadership, as well as branch resource teams in NA and globally
  • Utilizes tools available to evaluate prospects as both executable business and credit worthy

Solution Design:

  • Learns how to build a winning deal team using the right internal resources; leading and collaborating with pricing, product managers, trade lane managers and account management teams to develop a tailored solution
  • Partners with customers to gather information on inbound & outbound needs, and offers tailored solutions based on the CHR platform to win business


  • Navigates difficult conversations, with customers or internal partners, with tact and diplomacy
  • Supports Sales Executives and Senior Sales Executives to builds and delivers proposals and RFPs to gain exposure and experience

Process Efficiency:

  • Leverages customer facing technology to ensure the right technology is matched to customer needs
  • Collaborates and partners with Account Management teams to create and execute an implementation plan to effectively transition relationship management duties; assists in the development of any SOPs required to manage the customers' business effectively


  • Uses multiple media platforms to drive relationships forward and is comfortable with in-person, phone, and Microsoft Teams
  • Negotiates appropriate payment terms and processes
  • Uses internal tools and resources, including but not limited to service line and pricing SMEs, to determine customer pricing strategy

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of C.H. Robinson divisional knowledge
  • Ability to travel up to 80% (domestically) (outside of the office 3-4 days per week)

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
    • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
    • Demonstrated negotiation and sales strategies experience
    • Strong presentation and organizational skills


    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
