Overview

As a leader in the quick service industry, Chick-fil-A strives to be best-in-class in poultry as well. This role is responsible for managing the incoming Safety and Quality for chicken. The person in this role will be responsible for understanding the poultry industry - from the farm through processing - and will partner with Chick-fil-A's suppliers to proactively address issues and solve challenges.

The role will look at supply quality and safety holistically and partner with suppliers to provide solutions to meet Chick-fil-A's growth needs and product quality and safety standards. With this in mind, the core responsibility of the role is to challenge status quo in order to reach solutions quickly and successfully. This requires a proactive, self-starter mindset with a tenacious drive to deliver meaningful outcomes.

By leveraging experiential knowledge, and thinking outside of the box for solutions, this role will influence both external partners and internal senior leadership to transform the products sourced by Chick-fil-A from the poultry industry.

Responsibilities

  • Apply an expert knowledge of poultry - from farm through processing - to positively influence the quality of incoming product while ensuring safe supply
  • Plan and direct projects and/or outcomes and provide technical leadership and consultation to Suppliers and cross-functional partners
  • Solve complex problems and take a broad perspective to identify solutions
  • Conduct onsite visits of protein production facilities and identify Correction Actions with Suppliers
  • On-board new Suppliers and/or facilities into Chick-fil-A's supply chain
  • Lead cross-functional teams focused on solving problems and driving change
  • Investigate issues and make determinations and recommendations, sometimes with limited information
  • Disseminate information quickly and take action in a timely manner
  • Build strong, collaborative working relationships with Suppliers and internal stakeholders while producing results
  • Focus on the details, while working with a sense of urgency
  • Represent Chick-fil-A in outside discussions and technical forums


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Poultry Science, Meat Science, Food Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in poultry or related field


Preferred Qualifications

  • HACCP
  • Master's Degree in Poultry Science, Meat Science, Food Science or a related field
  • Green, Yellow or Black Belt in Six Sigma
