The Engineering Group within Chick-fil-A, Inc. focuses on innovating revolutionary systems to care for Operators, Team Members, and Customers. The unique needs of Chick-fil-A restaurants have necessitated the development of innovative equipment solutions to solve challenges related to capacity, complexity, and that meet our rigorous quality standards.
The Senior Manufacturing Project Engineer role is tasked with influencing our equipment suppliers in the specification, design, development, testing, validation, and approval of equipment for cooking, processing, and hot and cold holding. A chief contribution will be to utilize disciplined principles of engineering analysis, problem-solving and innovative design. This role is also expected to be an influencer within Chick-fil-A to help direct the organization through innovative concepts and communicate their applications in the context of menu and operational strategies.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development of functional and general specifications for new equipment designs based on product quality, operational-process, launch-timeline and space constraints
- Assist in selecting, and work in partnership with Supply Chain to identify potential suppliers and execute development agreements and IP strategy related to projects
- Influence supplier to ensure designs meet our rigorous quality and performance criteria and measures of success
- Develop and conduct lab and field testing and accelerated life-cycle testing
- Utilize engineering tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, FEA analysis to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that specifications meet all business needs and that projects are successfully executed
- Communicate well with non-technical business disciplines through the explanation and adoption of technology as applied to menu and operational strategies
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with a Engineering Discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Ability to work with latitude for unreviewed action and decisions
- Excellent communication, relational, and team skills to enable interaction with restaurant team members, as well as corporate peers and leaders
- Knowledge to produce and maintain technical specification documents on both process and equipment improvement opportunities
- Experience contributing to cross-functional teams that include both technical and non-technical aptitudes
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- 8+ years of professional experience
- Experience with 2D engineering drawing software (AutoCAD or equivalent)
- Experience with 3D solid modeling software (SolidWorks or equivalent)
