Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Systems Engineer I to join the growing Transportation Systems team! You will work on a team responsible for strategic system design, research initiatives, and financial data cataloging centered around our transportation planning and execution. You will support and maintain our transportation management system, with a focus on Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) or similar platforms. This role involves system configuration, solving, and working closely with multi-functional teams to ensure efficient performance of the transportation management infrastructure.   • Configure, develop, and maintain the OTM system
  • Implement and support OTM modules including Order Management, Contract and Rate Management, Shipment Management, Business Process Automation, Fleet Management, and Freight Settlement
  • Run system upgrades and patches, particularly in the OTM Cloud environment
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, BIP reports, XML, and stylesheets
  • Configure and modify automation agents
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and implement system improvements
  • Lead multiple integrations, including EDI and API for rating and freight tracking
  • Develop and maintain system documentation
  • Provide technical support to end-users

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4 years of OTM development and support experience
  • Strong understanding of logistics business processes and concepts
  • Extensive experience with OTM modules: Order Management, Contract and Rate Management, Shipment Management, Business Process Automation, Fleet Management, and Freight Settlement
  • Proficiency in SQL, BIP reports, XML, and stylesheets
  • Solid understanding of OTM business objects, interfaces, and external systems
  • Experience with system integration, EDI, and API technologies for rating and freight tracking
  • Familiarity with the OTM Cloud quarterly upgrade cycle and ability to test and document to ensure system stability
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work independently and relate product functionality to complex logistics and business processes
  • This role requires 5% domestic travel

Bonus:

  • Experience with other supply chain management systems (e.g., SAP TM, JDA)
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud)
  • APICS or other relevant supply chain certifications
