Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Customer Service Technology Team! The expectations of the prospective candidate will be the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of applications and related integrations. In this role, the ideal candidate will engage in iterative development, testing, and make contributions to the growth and development. This individual will partner with both technical and business teams on multiple initiatives and collaborate to deliver new features and improvements. 

What you'll do:

  • Play a hands-on role to craft, build, test and deploy frontend components.
  • Decompose sophisticated problems into simple straight-forward solutions that operationally scale and are easily maintained.
  • Bring industry best practices in terms of technology, process, and design
  • Build a culture of innovation through rapid prototyping and continuous delivery to Production.
  • Collaborate to identify, isolate and resolve malfunctions related to software and Ensure that technical solutions follow standard methodologies, are reliable, easily maintainable and scalable under sustained load.

What you'll need:

  • A bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience that includes programming experience with React, JavaScript and front end testing tools.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and developing scalable, high performing and fault-tolerant applications for large enterprises
  • Proven understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience evaluating, measuring, and tuning application performance
  • Experience developing software in an agile environment with CI/CD.
  • Strong fundamentals on building and scaling AWS solutions
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and deliver quality code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills with ability to balance multiple priorities at a given time.

Bonus:

  • Masters in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience in e-commerce and/or customer service technology
  • Java experience
