Senior Technical Product Manager

Chewy is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Organization in our Seattle or Boston office. The Discovery product team leads the design, functionality, user experience, and performance of Product Listing Pages (PLPs), including search, browse, brand pages, and cross-site recommendations CX. Our mission is to allow customers to navigate and discover Chewy.com efficiently at scale through automation. By using customer signals and sophisticated algorithms, we strive to understand their intent, driving personalized experiences that increase customer acquisition and retention, leading to higher incremental active customers and net sales per active customer.

In this role, you will lead all aspects of a diverse portfolio of projects within Discovery, from conceptualization to execution, encompassing idea generation, user feedback, prototype testing, and data analysis. You'll work closely with other ML scientists and engineers to build highly scalable, customer-first experiences, using ground breaking AI and ML models to power discovery algorithms. You will be instrumental in delivering technical solutions that drive the discovery of products and services on Chewy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Define and analyze measures of success (critical metrics) for new features and improvements; translate customer and business insights into clear requirements for product improvements and new features.
  • Use your customer-first approach and expertise in machine learning to guide the development and delivery of outstanding customer experiences across the Discovery platform.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap and prioritized product backlog, ensuring alignment between product vision and both customer and business goals.
  • Own the end-to-end product development process, balancing product requirements, with technical feasibility and complexity.
  • Drive innovation through continuous improvement, employing A/B experiments, data analysis, and feedback to iterate on algorithms and product functionality.
  • Collaborate with machine learning scientists, engineering, design, and analytics teams to deliver features that provide high value, ensuring products meet technical standards and drive measurable impact.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years in technical product management or a similar role leading cross-functional projects, balancing product/business requirements with technical constraints.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics), A Master’s degree in an equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong experience in applying machine learning techniques and algorithms in a product setting.
  • Strong analytical abilities with experience in using data to drive product decisions.
  • Proven track record to handle and deliver highly technical products that are scalable and passionate about our customers.
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Strong business, operational, and technical vision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal and leadership, with the ability to articulate sophisticated concepts at the executive level.

Bonus (if applicable):

  • E-commerce experience preferred.
