 We are seeking a Sr. Director, Product Design to play a senior leadership role in realizing Chewy’s vision, driving the conception and creation of innovative new products and services. You'll be an authority with vision for User Experience throughout Chewy.  You’ll have the opportunity to think and act big, exercising  innovation and a bias for action, coupled with  experimentation.  This role is a high-profile position that will inspire and empower a team of design leaders to ensure an unparalleled customer experience that enables our customers, businesses, and veterinarian partners to accomplish their goals in the most sophisticated, efficient, and enjoyable way possible.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead cross-team conceptual development; be a strategic inspiring leader in how to implement unmatched experiences that represent the most customer-centric intersection between design, business, content, and technology.
  • Influence investment choices that will provide long-term innovation for our customers
  • Champion cohesion and consistency in UX design that unites a growing number of features, while continuing to cultivate and evangelize a fervent culture of invention and innovation.
  • Recruit, assess, hire, develop, and retain an organization of outstanding UX personnel.

 What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of experience in User Experience Design in an ecommerce retail environment hat includes shown ability leading people leaders. Experience managing a team in a high growth environment; prior success with running employees across multiple products and/or programs.
  • Consistent track record in attracting, developing, and motivating the talent needed for current and future business needs. Demonstration of maintaining dedication expectations and leading teams to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in and handling user experience design groups in large, product-based organizations.
  • Proficiency in standard methodologies for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design; practical knowledge of User Centered Design processes and lifecycles; ability to provide and optimally communicate  and tactical recommendations based on quantitative/qualitative data and efficient Design practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of the latest design concepts, new technologies, and other developments in the user experience field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and social skills; the ability to communicate concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree, in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience within the design field.
  • Position will require occasional travel.

 

 

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

Our salary range for a Senior Director, Product Design position is $217,000.00 - $368,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly employee accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt Team Members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly Employees in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team Members will receive six paid holidays per year. Employees may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
