Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a multifaceted and analytical Senior Category Manager to join our growing and fast-paced merchandising team in WA, FL, or MA. We have very ambitious plans at Chewy and building our Merchandising teams and businesses are the top priority. Our Sr. Category Managers are hard-working entrepreneurial minded contributors that enjoy relevant and impactful results growing our brand. In this role, you will own the P&L for the category, discuss to better business terms, lead high profile vendor relationships, develop and complete business strategies, and see opportunities to accelerate your business.

Our ideal candidate is a diverse business leader with a track record of high performance, that can think big and operate at depth in parallel. Merchandising, retail, vendor management, and or product experience are great backgrounds for this role.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead one of Chewy’s most meaningful categories.
  • Have full P&L ownership.
  • Establish, create, and handle strong external vendor relationships, including ownership.
  • Continue to realize high double-digit growth rates; both for sales and profit.
  • Create and implement, based on research and data insights, strategies and plans to both recruit new customers to Chewy and to develop existing customers via lifecycle management concepts.
  • Find opportunities within your category to optimize and improve product performance, including analyzing sales data, assortment gaps, and market trends to make quick, effective decisions for your business.
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, supply chain, pricing, and customer service to ensure collaboration as well as complete planning and execution

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years of well-rounded business experience in ecommerce, merchandising, retail, FMCG, or similar organizations.
  • Strong comprehensive business approach with an appreciation to complete quickly. Sales/Merchandising experience. 
  • Shown operator, skilled in go-to-market, and with focus on execution.
  • Phenomenal communication combined with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
  • Outstanding proficiencies in vendor management/merchandising, sales, marketing, and general management.
  • Ability to lead, be flexible, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and strength in retail math.

Bonus:

  • Business and leadership experience in market-leading organizations; both in bigger organizations and  start-up businesses.
  • SQL a plus.
