Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Manager, Regional Inbound Transportation III to join our team in Plantation FL. In this role you will be play a vital role as a transportation leader owning end to end execution and performance of our transportation programs including dedicated fleets, one way truckload, less than truckload, and small parcel. You will be responsible for leading a group of transportation professionals and own transportation metrics within your region including cost metrics, service metrics, and driving standard of work. You will actively work to drive performance of metrics, root cause defects, create and drive process improvements, and define clear business requirements. You will get the opportunity to own a segment of the transportation network and work cross-functionally, partnering closely with In Stock Inventory Planning, S&OP, Finance, FC Operations, Systems and Tech, Procurement, and third-party carrier providers.A candidate for this position must bring experience utilizing data to drive decision making, have a passion for problem solving, a track record of implementing process improvements, and a desire to cultivate a motivated and results-driven team. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills with success driving action from business insights.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a team of 3+ transportation professionals to drive cost metrics, service metrics, and standard of work.
  • Develop and maintain standard of work to drive process improvements within the transportation operation that align with business objectives
  • Utilize data to perform analysis and transform those insights into clear requirements to drive systematic or programmatic improvements within your operation
  • Perform root cause analysis, develop and implement corrective action plans to drive service and cost improvements across the network
  • Utilize data to understand business objectives and identify defects; transform those insights into clear actions to drive cost and service levels improvements.
  • Leverage your communication skills to partner cross functionally within supply chain partners to measure outcomes from recommendations and actions taken
  • Engage with third-party carrier account executives to leverage capacity and performance to meet company objectives
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to identify and address obstacles, streamline processes by reducing manual tasks, and implement solutions that enhance loading and pickup efficiency, ensuring alignment with delivery performance metrics

What You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years within Supply Chain or transportation experience with experience owning performance metrics and driving systematic change in an matrixed organization
  • 3+ years of people leader with proven record of driving results and continuous improvement
  • Experience in an e-commerce environment, preferably in transportation, supply chain and/or operations 
  • Analytical skills including SQL and advanced Excel, including the ability to pull data and use to identify and solve ambiguous problems
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • BS or Master's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, logistics, or equivalent
  • Position may require travel

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Transportation engineering experience
  • Experience with methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma
  • Tableau dashboard creation experience
  • E-commerce background
