Chewy is looking for a Sr. Project Manager at our Fulfillment Center!

As Sr. Project Manager, you will support our Fulfillment Operations partners in their use of existing technologies, and delivering new fulfilment center technology and execution tools. You should have a functional understanding of ecommerce fulfillment operations and deep knowledge of Warehouse management systems (WMS) in order to help bridge the gap between fulfillment processes and system design. In this role you will work with tools like WMS, Labor Management System, Performance Management System, and many other new fulfillment applications.

You will provide second tier support of Operations across all Fulfillment Centers, except Pharmacy FCs and be the point of contact among Operations and Chewy WMS Technical Product Managers/Software Engineers. You will focus on prioritizing incidents and sharing solutions to Operations specific to WMS and vendors coordinated in Chewy WMS. You will also engage with third party vendor representatives and other Chewy technical support teams while seeking solutions between vendors software and integration to Chewy WMS systems.

You will partner with FExT product teams for improvements that will need to be user accepted tested (UAT) prior to releasing them to users in the Fulfillment environment. You will be a guide, share knowledge among colleagues, be an ambassador for the FExT Support team.

Work under timelines and deliver solutions for high priority incidents in addition to other tasks defined by the business to accelerate our growth. Partner with operations teams and technical teams and bridge gaps between the processes and skills. You will also perform and define standard work, they are prone to action, and can prioritize getting the right things done that make an impact.

The candidate should be able to establish relationships, work best in matrix and multi-functional environments, and able to influence without authority. This individual is also a central point of communication to all collaborators and effective communicator; highly organized.

Responsibilities include:

  • Able to guide Team Members on the Chewy Warehouse Management System (CWMS) and integration of Chewy WMS with other 3rd party vendor systems to drive solutions from incidents reported by operations.
  • Completes UAT testing of new software and bugs within existing software.
  • Builds and delivers effective document for internal training on new applications and processes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to both Fulfillment and Tech partners on FC processing, system functionality and standard work 
  • Provides support as primary on-call and support critical issues in a professional and expeditious manner.
  • Able to communicate with 3rd party vendors with ability to achieve goals that depend on prioritization of their work that benefit Chewy operational metrics and systems stability.
  • Able to develop project opportunities and work with operations team to define need and return on investment opportunities through organizational change requests.
  • Ensures smooth and consistent communication and exchanges of data between operations and internal partners
  • Assist with maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions, sometimes with unfavorable information.
  • Ability to travel 10% travel for supporting roll outs of new technology and improvements to Operations.
  • Additional responsibilities aligned within the role of a project manager within the Fulfillment Execution Support Team.

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience
  • Degree preferred
  • Must have experience and knowledge in warehouse operations and management systems
  • Strong analytics and communications background (e.g., math, statistics, quantitative methods, and verbal and writing proficiency)
  • Comprehensive computer application skills (Office, SQL or DBViz), as well prior Smartsheet, Atlassian (Jira / Confluence) and SharePoint experience with operational/fulfillment applications (CLMS, Forms, Labor Planning, etc.)
  • Multi-functional team management experience and experience working with warehouse operations leadership, and IT or other technical teams
  • Experience with structured task prioritization and organisational change processes
  • Record of identifying and recommending operations improvement opportunities to meet ever growing business requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with vendors and providing solutions through ownership
