Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking an Associate Director of SEO to join our high-performing SEO team in our Bellevue, WA, Boston, MA, or Plantation, FL office. You will be joining a team focused on ensuring that all aspects of Organic Search adhere to best practices. With your experience working with major brands and large companies, you possess a strong understanding of Content, Technical, and eCommerce SEO.

This role demands a seasoned professional with extensive Search Engine Optimization expertise, requiring a minimum of 10 years of hands-on SEO experience. You will support the Director of SEO in leading a team, devising Organic Search strategies, establishing working relationships with internal stakeholders and managing external vendors. This role will have direct reports. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of content and eCommerce SEO, including a deep knowledge of Google's web crawling mechanisms. They must be able to identify opportunities to improve site visibility in search engines. The candidate should also have experience in eCommerce SEO and a proven track record of working with complex internal linking strategies, facet navigation, free product listing visibility and AI experience. The role calls for an individual who is passionate about search and digital marketing, with a strong grasp of digital storytelling. This person should be adept at leveraging search capabilities to uncover content opportunities specifically tailored for an eCommerce website.

What You’ll Do:

  • Experience leveraging and incorporating AI with an Organic Search program.
  • Direct experience in managing a team of SEO Managers.
  • Proven ability to vet and manage vendors and agencies effectively.
  • Extensive experience in content SEO, including keyword research, and content optimization.
  • Extensive experience in eCommerce SEO, including product page optimization and category page management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of ownership, bias for action, and superior communication skills; be willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • Comprehensive understanding of best SEO practices.
  • Develop and implement content-focused SEO strategies aligned with our eCommerce and editorial goals.
  • Stay up to date with the latest SEO trends and algorithm changes.

What You’ll Need:

  • 10-12 years of experience in SEO, preferably in eCommerce and with a well-known brand.
  • Proven track record of improving Organic Search performance for large-scale websites.
  • Expert-level knowledge of keyword research tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of on-page optimization and content organization for SEO.
  • Proficiency in using SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Conductor, SEMrush.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.

Pay Range
$149,000$245,000 USD
