As the Associate Director of Affiliate Marketing, you will be responsible for crafting the strategy, execution, and optimization of a comprehensive affiliate program that spans traditional affiliates, commission-based influencer campaigns, and other innovative marketing partnerships. Your focus will be on crafting and driving a vision for affiliate and partnership marketing that propels our ecommerce, pharmacy, and insurance business lines forward, ensuring alignment across multiple collaborators.

You will lead a hard-working team of affiliate managers, steering them to develop and implement a strategic roadmap, identifying scalable growth opportunities, and implementing high-impact campaigns that drive measurable results. With a strong focus on data, testing, and continuous optimization, you will prioritize opportunities to expand and enhance our partner portfolio, including affiliates, influencers, content creators, and brand partnerships. Your team will look to you for guidance in campaign planning, network management, relationship building, and recruitment of top-performing partners!

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone who thrives on developing and performing growth strategies while demonstrating data to optimize performance. We’re looking for a strategic leader who is passionate about building a high-performance team, growing affiliate marketing programs, and making decisions based on business impact. With a keen eye for detail and a strong focus on results, you will be the key driver of our affiliate marketing success at Chewy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the strategy, execution, and optimization of Chewy's affiliate and partnership marketing programs across ecommerce, pharmacy, and insurance.
  • Build and encourage a high-performing team of affiliate managers, guiding them to deliver on aggressive goals while encouraging a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Identify, recruit, and cultivate relationships with top affiliates, influencers, content creators, and brand partners to drive sustained growth.
  • Prioritize scalable opportunities and lead the team in developing an actionable roadmap for campaign planning, network management, and partner recruitment.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously test, analyze, and optimize affiliate programs, ensuring they deliver measurable business impact.
  • Work cross-functionally with partners across marketing, product, and analytics teams to ensure alignment and drive successful program execution.
  • Plan and troubleshoot technology/analytics integrations with affiliate management platforms and support on reporting integrations
  • Enthusiastically supervise affiliate channel critical metrics and proactively identify growth opportunities, limitations or anomalies warranting further investigation or critical issue
  • Implement affiliate management standard processes including commission structures, text/image link optimization, testing, network profile and terms, and relationship management
  • Collaborate with internal Digital Marketing teams on testing, reporting, and ad hoc analysis
  • Build and present concise opportunity briefs, performance readouts, and relevant channel updates as needed

What You’ll Need:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in digital marketing, with at least 3 focused on Affiliate marketing within a retail/ecommerce organization
  • A minimum of 3 years experience leading a team of 2+ direct reports
  • A consistent track record delivering results in establishing and growing large affiliate marketing programs!
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (background in Business, Marketing, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related subject area preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of analytics/reporting tools and methodologies (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.) and the ability to analyze large datasets to gain insights and support business decisions
  • Experience with Partnerize (Performance Horizon), Impact, or other SAS model networks
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing
  • Ability to effectively work together with marketers, product managers and engineers alike
  • Validated organizational skills, work towards constant improvement, and critical thinking skills
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starting mentality and ability to thrive with ambiguity
  • Position may require travel

Bonus:

  • Experience with SQL or other sophisticated data analysis

Compensation & Benefits:

Our salary range for a Associate Director, Affiliate Marketing position is $149,000.00 - $245,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s proven experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k, and a new hire and annual equity grant.

We offer parental leave, family services benefits, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, employee assistance program, and many discounts including 10% off pet insurance and 20% off at Chewy.com.

Salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
