Offshore Production Chemist with 10+ years of oil and gas industry experience in managing offshore laboratory responsibilities. Role responsibilities include managing the offshore laboratory, training less experienced team members, high pressure process sampling, ensuring quality in laboratory test methodology, laboratory data analysis for process improvements, and conducting special projects.
- Manages and conducts sampling and laboratory analyses for process systems such as the following: condensate analysis, produced water discharge, potable water, bacteria analysis, gas analysis, glycol analysis, diesel fuel oil, hydraulic and heat medium fluids.
- Setup and performs laboratory synthesis runs on production chemistry to simulate process trial runs and to support process troubleshooting required by the Process Engineers and Operations
- Produces laboratory reports to share the findings of the synthesis trial runs with the stakeholders
- Performs non-routine / special testing of plant samples or arranges samples to third party laboratory testing for troubleshooting, monitoring, startup & trials in the plant

- Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) / Statistical Quality Control (SQC) analysis on test results to determine root cause and develop improvement ideas.
- Delivers structured training programs for all Laboratory Technicians with focus on building Laboratory Technicians organization capability and adherence to Laboratory testing procedure, process and safety requirements. These training include:
- Delivery of basic core test technique, test methods, work process for new hires
- Delivery of formal job training for new hires
- Delivery of new test/calibration technique, procedure, test methods for new test equipment/instrument
- Plans, arranges and conducts Laboratory Qualification Test for new hires; Progression Tests for existing Technicians; evaluates Laboratory Technicians competency and verifies effectiveness of training
- Conducts Refresher Training and qualify / re-qualify existing technicians and Team Leads in the training modules.
- Provides Safety & Emergency training to all lab personnel.
- Identifies and maintains training plan for Laboratory Technicians works with Superintendent and coordinates with SMP Learning & Development for alignment with training policies and gather feedback for implementation of training plan.
- Upkeeps and maintains all physical training records, training samples and certification records
- Participates and supports all audit checks and validation.
- Reviews and revises on periodic basis all the Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in the SharePoint to meet CEMS/ISO/ OE requirements
- Review gaps and opportunities in technicians’ analytical performance and reinforces additional / ad hoc training needs for the technician
- Develops laboratory testing methods and procedures in accordance with the Operations Management System. Implements current Good Manufacturing Process for the laboratory responsibilities.
- Maintains organized and accurate data documentation for laboratory tests in the logbook and the electronic Laboratory Information Management System. Analyzes this data to identify trends in the production chemistry and makes recommendations to improve the process.
