Senior Cased Hole Petrophysicist

As a senior Cased Hole Petrophysicist, the selected individual will provide petrophysical support for Chevron’s worldwide subsurface drilling, completion, and general operation.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Recommending fit-for-purpose cased-hole logging programs to identify workover opportunities and meet reservoir surveillance objectives.
  • Provides evaluation of wellbore integrity using cement evaluation and corrosion monitoring tools.
  • Provides trouble shooting for well performance problems using the most appropriate logging technology.
  • Provides analysis in determination of reservoir properties from C/O and pulsed-neutron capture logs.
  • Be well versed in working with teams of engineers and geoscientists providing input to detailed reservoir and simulation models.
  • Be the contact point with logging vendors to stay abreast of their capabilities and coordinate the development of custom solutions that fit company's need.
  • Provides mentoring for early career Petrophysicist and able to teach in-house courses/seminars.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of job experiences in petrophysics, wellsite operations and safety processes. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Petrophysics, Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Physics, or other scientific discipline.
  • Advanced skills and experience in interpretation and integration with various open hole logging suites in an exploration and production setting.
  • Advanced skills and experience in designing cased-hole logging program for workover, reservoir surveillance, cement integrity and identify reservoir properties from C/O and PNC technology.
  • Advanced skills in processing of raw production log data, including highly deviated wells, to compute a multiphase flow profile.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Have good teaming skills and be able to work successfully with remote teams in the field or technical center.
  • Extensive experience with Techlog and/or Emeraude software a plus.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
