Charles Schwab's Retail Strategy is the internal management consulting group for the Retail business, which is the primary business unit at Schwab and has 13,000 employees worldwide. Retail Strategy serves as a trusted adviser to the head of the Retail business and the Retail Leadership Team and works on strategic and operational issues at the top of senior management's agenda. Our team of roughly 15 professionals is a premier pipeline for diverse and high potential talent, and alumni include senior leaders across the entire firm.

Retail Strategy serves two primary functions: 1) assisting with strategic decisions for the Retail Leadership Team, and 2) supporting the reporting, operational, and business planning needs of the Retail Leadership Team. This is done through the three functional areas that make up the Retail Strategy team: Strategy & Biz Ops, Strategic Finance & Planning, and Management Reporting & Executive Operations.
This opening is for a Senior Specialist who will rotate through all three functions to gain exposure to different parts of the business. However, the "home base" of the role is in Strategy and Biz Ops. Typical projects in Strategy and Biz Ops include growth strategy, market assessment and entry evaluation, M&A and divestiture strategy, and operating model / organizational design.
Job summary:
We are seeking a Senior Specialist who will spend the majority of their time driving high priority strategy projects, while learning other parts of the business with rotations in the Strategic Finance & Planning and Management Reporting & Executive Operations functions. As a Senior Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

What you have
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of full-time work experience preferably with a top-tier consulting firm, financial services firm, strategy group at a large organization, or investment bank
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to execute on concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
- Excellent problem-solving foundation and skills, including:
- Gathering information through research and interviews
- Executing analysis in structured frameworks to guide quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Evaluating data and information to determine the 'so what'
- Translating strategic insights into actionable recommendations
- Ability to execute work independently or under direction for discrete projects or specific modules of multiple projects
- Comfort in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
- Basic capabilities in PowerPoint and Excel
