Your opportunity
The Senior Regional Trust Consultant is responsible for collaborating with both internal and external partners to identify, develop and acquire new business opportunities for Charles Schwab Trust Company of Delaware. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert for directed trusts, relevant Delaware trust statutes, advantages of Schwab's trust services, and all procedural aspects of trust onboarding in order to ensure exceptional client and partner experiences.
- Work directly with internal and external partners to identify, develop and acquire inbound trust business
- Collaborate with internal partners (e.g. Regional Banking Managers, Senior Bankers, Schwab Advisor Services Relationship Managers, etc.) to drive awareness of the trust offer to Registered Investment Advisors, promoting the personal trust services Schwab provides
- Partner and collaborate with teammates, consultants, advisors, attorneys, and clients to deliver superior client service during pre-acceptance trust process
- Assist in review of trust agreements, legal documents, asset statements, etc. to assess acceptability of trust provisions and assets, profitability, and potential for risk in serving as trustee
- Effectively communicate and provide timely follow-up with partners, advisors, attorneys and clients
- Coordinate with attorneys (local and otherwise) to accomplish judicial or non-judicial processes as necessary to ensure that trusts comply with Schwab's requirements and applicable trust law
- Comply with state and federal banking regulations and internal policies and procedures regarding asset eligibility, OFAC, AML, and Customer Identification Program
- Actively participate in special projects and initiatives in the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and community

What you have
- Strong knowledge of trust principles and 8+ years of practical experience working with personal trusts
- JD with relevant coursework or CTFA preferred; may consider candidates who aspire to complete CTFA within three years as a condition of continued employment for highly qualified candidates
- Prior experience with trusts governed by Nevada law and experience with trusts governed by the law of other top-tier jurisdictions (e.g. Delaware, South Dakota, New Hampshire) preferred
- Prior experience working with directed trusts preferred
- Consultative business development experience or equivalent client-facing legal experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture internal and external partnerships to provide influence and drive business results
- Aptitude for distilling complex legal information into understandable terms to deliver engaging presentations; equally adept at substantive trust conversations with investment advisors, estate planning attorneys or other skilled partners
- Highly organized professional with the ability totake ownership, prioritize, manage and execute multiple responsibilities
- Collaborative team player; highly motivated self-starter with problem-solving mindset
- Availability to travel periodically
