The Senior Manager will assist the Director and Managing Director of Schwab Asset Management Innovation with the review and coordination of innovation opportunities across partners groups, with Schwab client-facing enterprises and with Schwab Asset Management senior leadership.
This will be done through a deep understanding of strategic opportunities at and outside of Schwab, industry trends and by Seeing Through Client Eyes to identify client needs. To identify client needs and trends requires a broad understanding of the investment management industry, including an array of asset classes across product structures - separately managed accounts, ETFs, mutual fund, collective investment trusts and money market funds - and the influence that brokers-dealers have on advising and assisting investors, inclusive of retail investors, investment advisors and retirement plans, that influence sales and distribution trends.
In addition, the individual will engage with Schwab Asset Management senior leadership, including the CEO of Schwab Asset Management, playing a key role crafting executive and senior leadership and board presentations requiring extensive collaboration with leaders, partner teams, and subject matter experts to understand and develop presentation goals and content to deliver the intended message to the target audience. The culmination of this work, and a key measure of success in the role, will be impactful and innovative presentations that resonate with diverse audiences across multiple channels.
What you have
- BA/BS required. MBA, CFA or other advanced business training is preferred.
- 3-5 years related experience in financial services, preferably in the asset management industry.
- Experience in business strategy and/or product strategy, including ETF, mutual fund and separately manage account product or strategy roles is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually impactful presentations.
- Strong background in creative development, presentation software such as PowerPoint, and visual storytelling of complex concepts and information.
A successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Strong command of the asset management industry, major investment product trends, and investment vehicle types.
- High business acumen and ability to understand business strategies and convert into visual storytelling.
- Talented at transforming complex information and data into clear, concise, and visually engaging slides, incorporating data visualization, charts and infographics.
- Can effectively manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Passion for serving clients and for the investment management industry.
- Comfort with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment with the ability to focus on the critical elements of the work to provide clarity amongst the ambiguity.
- Creative and persistent at identifying insights and trends that present opportunities or challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with numerous groups, both internal and external.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
