The Product Owner - Investment Research Visuals and Charts will be a member of the Investment Research Platform team supporting Schwab Asset Management (SAM) and the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR). Product Owners (POs) at Schwab develop and maintain a vision for their products and are responsible for communicating that vision to the engineering teams and key stakeholders. They specify product features from conception to retirement and work with tech leaders, architects, UX designers, and engineers to ensure that business, quality, and functional goals are met. The PO owns the product development roadmap and ensures that all business stakeholders are aligned at each stage of the development lifecycle. This role requires expertise on both the engineering and business sides of the product and is responsible for delivering high-quality, performant solutions that address the needs of internal users and the broader organization.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain the product vision, roadmap and strategy for data visualization and storytelling tools
  • Identify and prioritize enhancements based on user feedback, trends, and advancements in capabilities
  • Ensure alignment between user needs and product solutions

Stakeholder Collaboration & User Engagement

  • Engage with current and prospective stakeholders and users to understand their needs
  • Translate business requirements into product features that empower users to turn data into stories
  • Partner with technology teams to develop solutions that are functional, performant, and usable

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead an agile team to deliver incremental product value, completed in an efficient and timely manner
  • Ensure the work from the team is transparent and understood by others outside the team
  • Define and track success metrics to measure the impact of visualization tools

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify new capabilities and opportunities to improve visual storytelling tools
  • Advocate for automation, interactivity and easy to use features
  • Push stakeholders and agile team members to shift outside of conventional paths

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a product owner/manager collaborating with technology teams and business partners to define strategic visions and roadmaps for IT and business process solutions
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry with exposure to investment management
  • Experience with Schwab technologies & products
  • Demonstrated passion for data visualization, analysis, and publishing tools that transform data into stories
  • Knowledge of Agile and/or Scaled Agile practices
  • Enthusiasm, curiosity, and empathy to enable you to understand customer needs and relentlessly strive to deliver solutions that meet those needs
  • Strong analytical problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • A passion for learning and a spirit of continual self-improvement

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
