WFS Product Management & Strategy is responsible for evaluating 3rd party and proprietary investment-based products and solutions and then determining how to strategically offer them through WFS: (i) to grow the core WFS businesses, (ii) to extend the end-client relationship to the rest of Schwab, and (iii) where appropriate, to enable the distribution of Schwab asset management and advice capabilities. The Sr. Manager, Product Management & Strategy will be responsible for driving product management and implementation of initiatives that support the advice, planning and guidance solutions within the Retirement Plan Solutions (RPS) business.
The Sr. Manager plays an integral role in maintaining and growing the advice and managed accounts services for Retirement Plan Services. The role is an individual contributor who collaborates with Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Digital, Investment Services and Sales & Service business partners to maintain and grow the current and future state of the product incorporating client feedback and ensuring prioritization with larger business strategies.
Core responsibilities:
Drive enhancements to the managed accounts service and overall advice strategy; partner with the client-facing field teams and 3rd party solutions providers to evaluate opportunities, define business rules for prioritization and translate into business case requirements with a focus on the sponsor and participant experience. Partner with RPS Digital to develop/test approved enhancements, create KPIs/OKRs, assist with testing and evaluate outcomes.
Ensure regulatory compliance for Managed Accounts/AMA; collaborating with legal, compliance and non-standard services to ensure product adherence to rules and regulations and address unique client situations. Maintain approved versions of legal and regulatory collateral, act as content expert for participant regulatory notices and ensure proper distribution and access.
Conduct product oversight and risk management functions; acting as subject matter expert for internal/external audit support, create/maintain risk control procedures documentation, due diligence checklists and implement associated remediations as needed.
Reviewing new and existing product marketing and communications collateral; ensure product is accurately represented in B:B and B:C materials. Review disclosures for conflicts based on client type and implementation set up. Maintain and centralize access to approved collateral on SharePoint/Confluence sites.
What you have
- Expertise in financial services including a deep understanding over a range of managed account and financial planning solutions. Existing regulatory knowledge helpful.
- Execute multiple initiatives concurrently, involving a high level of communication, coordination, project management and deadline delivery.
- Ability to operate at both the strategic and tactical level to manage multiple projects that vary in scope and complexity with cross-functional teams.
- Capacity to build strong internal working relationships and connect initiatives across multiple groups and priorities in service of client needs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly explain complex subject matter, develop recommendations, manage excel spreadsheets/pivot tables, create presentations and present to management.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- At least 6 years of experience in product management or business strategy.
