The Sr. Manager, Field Communications & Enablement, is an individual contributor position, reporting to the Director, Field Enablement. This person will work with Schwab Advisor Services Sales leadership to advance business priorities by designing, executing, and demonstrating the effectiveness of internal communication and enablement strategies, ensuring the Sales organization is prepared to effectively prospect new or support existing clients, and is engaged in our business strategy. This role will also help drive broader Advisor Services (AS) field outcomes by leading the strategic implementation of the AS 'Allego' platform (a video communication and training platform) and through communications expertise elevate the team's processes and best practices to drive scale, efficiency, and quality.

This individual's responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Business Development Field Enablement Partner:

  • Be a strategic thought partner and business leader helping the Business Development sales team achieve its organizational priorities and business goals. This includes working with the leadership team or independently to uncover change management, employee experience, and communications and enablement opportunities, and confidently partnering with the leadership team and across the business starting from objective design through activation and determination of success.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications and enablement plans including messaging, tactics, and measures of success for all levels of the organization. This requires creativity to get through to a highly focused audience and helping them understand the WIIFM and connect dots to the business opportunity.
  • Own the Business Development organizations' communications and enablement infrastructure, including digital communications, live communications, and their corresponding measures of success.
  • Help prioritize and maximize effectiveness of most opportunities brought to or requested by the BD organization by leveraging deep audience expertise and consulting with business partners and stakeholders. This may include working with partners to develop and refine impactful information and enablement delivery, and in some cases with quick turnaround times.

Additional responsibilities in driving outcomes:

  • Broader Sales Communications & Enablement support:
    • Support team members as they develop and execute on communications and enablement strategies that drive the broader Sales organization's ability to reach its goals.
    • Identify opportunities to create greater scale and efficiency across our team's efforts to drive Sales outcomes through communications and enablement.
  • AS Field Allego platform strategic leadership
    • Manage AS' strategy for expanding our usage of the Allego communication and enablement platform as a tool to drive greater field readiness and business strategy engagement.
      • Oversee channel and content design, and audience management.
      • Collaborate to manage contributor processes and education, and deliver solutions that contribute to our Field Readiness measurement efforts.
    • Drive the expansion of use cases for the tool across AS and serve as platform ambassador and collaborative creative solution provider.
      • Work with key technical partners to ensure platform specifications continue to position Allego as the platform of choice for AS field audiences.
  • Lead the Field Enablement team's efforts to drive scale, efficiency, quality, and effectiveness by:
    • Capturing and reinforcing team best practices and processes that could be utilized across the team
    • Determining Field Enablement quality standards and designing and delivering a model for achieving those standards

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of 'challenging the status quo,' this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience designing and executing a variety of communication or enablement strategies - preferably for Sales Teams
  • Experience as a communications and/or enablement strategic thought partner - preferrable for a Sales organization
  • Proficiency in designing visually appealing materials, using tools such as PowerPoint, Word, infographic software, etc. Experience using Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Captivate, or Adobe Illustrator is preferred but not required
  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience working with a B2B Sales leadership team
  • A track record of success in designing and delivering high impact communications and enablement plans that get attention and drive the outcomes in a very noisy space and with an under-engaged audience
  • The ability to build relationships across team members, departments, and senior leaders
  • Be outcome oriented with a knack for building and influencing strategies that drive desired results, not activities
  • Demonstrate confidence, diplomacy, maturity, and business savvy to effectively facilitate dialogue and decision making, bringing an informed point of view to the conversation when appropriate
  • Ability to quickly master and advocate adoption of new and evolving tools and technology including designing and delivering channel and adoption strategies.
  • Ability to synthesize and distill large amounts of complex information with a deep understanding of what constitutes relevant content for the intended audience
  • Ability to take ownership of solutions, and proactively seek opportunities that will advance business priorities
  • Keen attention to detail, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines while balancing and prioritizing complex projects and deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Learning agility and passion for continuous improvement
  • Creativity in approach to modern and varied communication methods, including video, audio, visuals, etc.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
