This role within Client Reporting is responsible for product platforms spanning brokerage statements, trade confirmations, and quarterly trade confirmation reports. These products provide essential account information to the customer regarding their positions, purchases, sales, and income. This product role offers a great opportunity to directly impact client experience, satisfaction, and loyalty, while also supporting the firm's regulatory obligations and strategic growth initiatives. The team supports all of Schwab's business enterprises and works with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

The Sr. Manager, Digital Product Management (individual contributor) will serve as a Product Owner (PO) of Client Reporting platform applications. The Sr. Manager will be responsible for product discovery, strategy, roadmap development, and partnering with technology to design and create modern, scalable product experiences. The role demonstrates its business and technical expertise in partnership with technology and business partners to create/execute on a strategic vision including participation in design, requirement development, prioritization, development, testing, and validation activities. The ideal PO demonstrates a mix of business and technical knowledge and possesses strong foundational knowledge of the securities industry, software development life cycle, and agile practices.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for enabling the strategic vision and managing technical execution of our platform and products
  • Provide thought-leadership on overall vision, roadmap for system development, and annual business plans and proposals as well as ongoing Program Increment (PI) Planning
  • Works closely with Client Reporting Product team and business partners on prioritization and requirements associated with requests for development within the platform
  • Lead stakeholder meetings to gather, refine, and deliver on requirements
  • Solicit, document, and manage business requirements into epics/stories and prepare for ongoing Program Increment (PI) Planning
  • Create compelling visual layouts, frameworks, summaries and mockups of financial reporting documents. Utilize design thinking best practices to enhance clarity and readability of client reporting documents
  • Act as Product and Client Ambassador in scrum activities to help multiple scrum teams iteratively execute and deliver product, client, and business requirements
  • Leverage platform capability knowledge to define problems, identify opportunities, design solutions with architects, and disseminate knowledge
  • Maximize scrum team resource utilization by identifying and managing execution dependencies and bottlenecks
  • Lead scrum ceremonies to review and provide confirmation of 'development done' ensuring features are to specification
  • Create and maintain project and capability / feature documentation and artifacts to align stakeholders on solution requirements, dependencies, issues, and decisions
  • Create cohesive PowerPoint presentations to communicate progress/issues to executive leadership
  • Align Client Reporting Product team and business partners on execution priorities and progress
  • Serve as subject matter expert to perform research and address escalations / questions from service teams and clients

  • Able to communicate at the strategic level (strategy/vision) as well as tactical level (status updates), and able to articulate a complex task or analysis to individuals at all levels of the company.
  • Skilled in working with a cross-functional team(s), balancing trade-offs and re-prioritization as needed. Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity and sound decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience with project planning, dependencies management, and business analysis. Able to define use cases and business logic within user stories.
  • Superior communication skills, able to communicate complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story.
  • Subject-matter expert (SME): Possess a general understanding of Schwab's businesses, firm priorities, and end-users including relevant domains, products, and journeys and SME on your platform and industry to drive client service, rep experience, healthy platforms, and delivery excellence.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with internal and external customers; experience and comfort presenting to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Experience in the various facets of testing; test documentation, execution, and supporting others through the testing life cycle.
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead multiple projects within a cross functional project team (internal and external technology, operations, product, and business organizations)

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in digital product management
  • 5+ years of Agile training and knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
  • 4+ years of experience leading and directing technology scrum/project teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FINRA Series 7 preferred; Series 24 or 99
  • Experience working with Client Reporting Technology (CRT) platforms or an adjacent Schwab platform, or experience working in a similar platform that consumes many upstream data sources
  • Experience in the financial services industry and/or regulatory communication
  • Experience writing queries and extracting reporting from data warehouses and knowledge of Tableau
