Schwab's Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS) organization offers industry-leading wealth management experiences, through solutions like Schwab Wealth Advisory (SWA) and Schwab Advisor Network (SAN), along with a broad range of investment products and solutions, to both retail and registered investment advisor (RIA) clients.

Within WAS, the Senior Manager, Client Experience will be a part of the Investment Offers & Solutions (IOS) group's Mutual Fund, ETF, and 529 Client Experience team. IOS is responsible for managing our proprietary separately managed account offers as well as third-party product marketplaces, including mutual funds, ETFs, alternative investments, managed accounts, structured products, fixed income, annuities, insurance, and the Schwab 529 Plan. Our mission is to provide a positive experience for Schwab clients that invest in these products, while growing a key revenue stream for Schwab.

The Senior Manager, Client Experience will manage the Schwab 529 offer and lead strategic initiatives by collaborating with key partners across the firm. Executing on these strategic initiatives will address changing industry trends, allow Schwab to pursue market growth opportunities, and improve internal business processes and operations. The role will drive forward the roadmap for the Schwab 529 offer and strategic initiatives, including:

  • Owning end-to-end 529 offer, including external relationship with the Schwab 529 plan program manager and internal relationships with 529 operations and service teams.
  • Partnering closely with technology, marketing, digital, compliance, and legal counsel to plan and execute key 529 plan projects, while serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Framing, defining, and implementing strategic initiatives related to mutual funds, ETFs, and the Schwab 529 plan to further elevate our offers.
  • Building and maintaining a strong network of business partners internally and externally to consult on issues and opportunities with the 529 offer and arrive at collaborative solutions.
  • Gaining a deep understanding of client journeys, pain points, and needs to build an industry-leading experience.
  • Ensuring processes and procedures supporting key functions for the 529 plan are maintained to minimize risk to the firm, drive efficiency, and scale offer maintenance.
  • Monitoring key business metrics to identify enhancement areas for the 529 offer.
  • Understanding processes related to client data and single sign-on connections with other applications; collaborate with technology teams to maintain and improve these processes.

What you have

  • 7+ years of product management, offer management, or client experience.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business judgement and analytical skills.
  • Robust communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize, and tell strategic stories through presentations, while effectively presenting to and persuading audiences.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple complex projects at a time to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Highly resourceful, adaptable, and creative problem solver, who can thrive in a dynamic environment, solve issues as they arise, and drive progress in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong relationship building and partnerships skills; a strong team player.
  • Technical expertise with managing large data file deliveries and single sign-on connections.
  • Strong acumen in financial services with a great understanding of investment products (e.g., mutual funds, ETFs).
  • Prior experience in financial services and/or wealth management, preferred.
  • 529 plan knowledge/expertise preferred.
